Benzoyl peroxide and water

I live in the uk and i have been using the acne.org lately and it has been amazing!! But anyway, i was running out of the benzoyl peroxide and ordered a new batch but it will only arrive in three weeks and i need to try preserving the last benzoyl peroxide that i already have. so i added a bit of water to it just to thin it out and make it last longer , do you think that it will make a difference and become ineffective anymore ? because i woke up with some really bad spots today and the only reason i can think of is because i added water to the bp ?
