I've had these scars on my cheeks since college. I'm getting pretty desperate already. 🙁 Any idea how to at least improve their appearance? I've been to 2 dermatologists already and both suggested microneedling. Would that work?

Tca cross, after heal, use salicylic acid for a gentle peel to control acne breakout.

Thanks! I'm not really sure if they do TCA cross here in our country though. 🙁

I'm not sure you should do a TCA peel by yourself :/

Hey, just wondering, are my scars deep or shallow? Do you think chemical peel would improve them a bit?

Really shallow. I'm not sure as I've only heard and seen how TCA cross works. You should check out videos on youtube to see.

So they aren't that deep. Thanks for your reply! 🙂

Yes, tca is chemical peel, if u want self peel, use salicylic acid 30% peel first to see result.

Sunday i just test tca 30% cross on 2 scars, yesterday already see brown on that 2 scars, wait a few days will peel off.

Hi! Just had TCA CROSS last Saturday. When will these scabs peel off? Some are still not brown, some still has white on them. :(

Do you have pic. Its more helpful.scabs can stay in at least a week, the longer the better. Not sure why some are still white? After scabs come off, use a good recoverygood recovery serum or cream!

Hi! Thanks! I will post pics when I get home... I guess some are white because of the post treatment cream and my sunscreen? Perhaps they got stuck on the scabs? Some scabs are not that dry, though. And it's been 4 days already. Might take more days before they fall off, I guess.

Yeah. But it's still flawed and the holes are pretty obvious.

Are you trying any treatments now?

Hi utter, hows the healing coming along. It looks like you will have good results. Might have to battle hyperpigmentation for a while though. Please keep us updated w pics and results. I hope the best for you!

Hi! It's been 10 days already and the scabs are still there. Most of them fell off already though. My doctor scheduled me for a fractional C02 laser this Saturday. Hope it will take care of the hyperpigmentation.

Will post some pics later this day. And thank you very much!

The recovery is quite a pain in the ass, haha. Both of my cheeks are filled with scabs so I have to wear a face mask at work.
I've read some articles about moist vs dry healing and I wasn't sure which works best. My doctor didn't advice me to put Vaseline or any ointment on them. Maybe that's why it's taking so long for the scabs to fall off.

Would post some pics this afternoon. Thanks!

Hey, here are the latest pics - 11th day post treatment. Most of the scabs fell off already, except this huge one on my right cheek and some small ones. Now I have lots of white spots all over my cheeks. They look pretty bad, really. Hypopigmentation, perhaps? Maybe the fractional C02 laser would treat it? This is what worries me most now. The pitted scars are still visible, no significant improvement as of yet.

Would update you after my laser treatment this Saturday! Hope everything goes well!

Here's a quick update, guys!

A few days after all the scabs fell off, the marks turned really dark. First pink, then now brown. I look like a leopard with all the spots. 3 scars even got wider and a bit deeper.

I just had the fractional CO2 laser last Saturday (that's 2 weeks overdue) and it might not take care of the hyperpigmentation as per my doctor. She said some of her patients responded well to the TCA CROSS without the hyperpigmentation. I'd go there this Saturday for a follow-up check up and we'd see if she'd do a whitening peel for the dark spots.

Hoping the PIH would fade away soon. Keeping my fingers crossed!
