Hi everyone! Ive have spent countless hours researching threads. Ive decided on subcision and either fraxel repair or total fx. Heres my dilemma: i need to travel, perhaps more than once and im thinking east coat is best as i can drive and save flight/hotel costs. Heres who im considering.
1. Dr. Rapaport, he may do subcision and repair at same visit.
2. Dr. Novick for subcision. But then when can i get laser? Ugh.. can i do near same time???
3. Dr. Geronomus for laser?
4. Dr. George Tang for subcision?
5. Dr. Oerintech? Havent heard much about him.
I have some very shallow rolling scars, 2 box cars, and couple ice picks which are very small and shallow. I will try to upload photos that i can crop so my face doesn't show. Please, if uve used the docs mentioned or any other advice or recommendations i would love to hear! Thank you guys.

I live on the West Coast and don't know any of these doctors so I can't help you there, but I have not seen one person who has had improvement with laser. I'm talking good before and afters in the same lighting. I would for sure do subcision, but skip laser and the thousands it will cost, and go ahead with TCA peels/cross and dermastamp.

Dan34, thanks so much. Well, it goes to say that everyones skin is different. I have tried tca and it started my cascade of problems. Skip ahead and used laser to tone down acne and redness caused by tca peel. And it helped. 3 years went by and did nothing to my skin and other then hormonal chin acne and scars caused by tca, skin was ok. I then a year ago decided to do few light peel. .. skinmedica line and yup..same response as tca, breakouts, couple shallow scars left from popping those nasty bumps. Tried rejuvapen and it added insult to injury for me. I then went to laser. Sciton profractional and bbl mode and believe it or not, it has helped! Calmed acne, decreased redness, and smoothed slightly the d rolling scars, shrunk the pitted few, and did significantly diminish the new scars from the skinmedica peels and rejuvapen. Now, it was spaced out one every 3 months and my doctor did not use aggressive settings. I think last was deepest at 300 microns. I know i need a deeper treatment but hes very conservative and not the acne scar specialist im looking for. Hes a great guy, though. Especially for anti-aging fillers and lasering .

Actually, if you are thinking subcision have you read MR. Matts posts? He had his done in Columbus Ohio I believe (he posts the doctors name several times). He had amazing results for a very reasonable price. If I lived closer to him I would go. I just had subcision and infini with Dr Rapaport 1 week ago. Not overly impressed. A LOT of bruising and redness, and I think my scar is only a little bit better but it has only been a little more than a week so who knows what the final result will be. I don't blame the Dr either, I mean our scared faces are super hard to treat. I will say the downtime is way more than I bargained for. I have had hyperpigentation before from breakouts and from past experience I would not be surprised if my redness from this treatment takes a year to fully go away. That would be worth it if I had a 20 to 30% improvement in the scars but I'm not sure if that will be. It is very stressful I have not really slept since the subcision and infini.
I just don't want to be left worse off. I have also been to Dr. Oerintech for micro droplet silicone. I had six treatments, with no results. The bottom line is most scars need to be undermined (subcised). The only problem with submission is that the scars tend to re tether down. So you should suction after the procedure which causes more redness and bruising and even that may not work. If you go the silicone route it will take several visits and from my experience there will be no results. I feel bad that you are now in this club that no one wants to belong to. Good luck

Thank you fory, for your honest response. I have read mr.matts and i saw that it was Columbia,  not Columbus. .bummer!!! Cuz id so be there like yesterday. Im really hoping a couple fraxel repairs will make things better. My scars are so darn shallow,  but they do still cause shadowing in bad lighting.  However, i didnt see that u mentioned lasers. And i dont know if you have ethnic skin, but i swear the sciton profractional has helped me. And i do believe becauss its erbium that hyperpigmentation is less.  I think the key for me was 3 month interval. Perhaps if i do like 3 more it would work but id rather skip to a bit more aggressive to decrease treatment requirements. Im gonna post lics in a bit, do you have any? And also, how much did rapaport charge. Why infini btw? Thank u soooo much, please keep me posted!!!

So, here are some pics. After 3 profractional.  The ice picks did shrink and are shallow to begin with. I cannot bring myself to tca cross them because im afraid of making them worse. I may try excision on the larger stand alone one thats more lateral. Need a recommendation for that too lol.  So, please please please more suggestions :) im also gonna find a before and after laser to show the rolling scars change.20160227_183221-1.thumb.jpg.25ee1db3719720160227_183221-1.thumb.jpg.25ee1db3719720160227_183221-1.thumb.jpg.25ee1db3719720160227_183221-1.thumb.jpg.25ee1db3719720160225_105237-1.jpg.d4316d7761dbfdd31c20160226_131729-1.thumb.jpg.211e7d4afb3d

OMG I wish I had your skin! you should look into infini forthe rolling scars. Im sure someone close to you has it. Its a radio frequency skin tightener. In my opinion lasers don't do anything for scars.(even a lot of derms are admitting that now) their new tag line is "lasers don't lift." I do see some improvement with you though.but that is probably because your scars are so shallow!

i have seen very little improvement with the infini personally but I have a huge deep rolling scar so i am a tough case. For your icepicks the only options are punch excision or tca cross. I have had neither of those so I can't comment. Good luck!

also have you looked into enerjet? you have to go to canada but some are having good results. I have not tried it. It is a filler that is injected with air pressure so it breaks up the scar tissue.

Thnx fory, i will look into enerjet. And yes im seriously considering excision and subcision and then probably2 rounds on frac co2. I do believe in the smoothing power of lasers, cuz iy has worked for me. I will keep everyone posted. I am still deciding on docs. I am even considering mark taylor, but his treatment maybe too extreme for my issues. Good luck to u as well!

Although pictures don't capture scars clearly , my advice " leave your skin alone " or just do tca cross and microneedling for ice pick scars

Yes I agree leave your skin alone but I did want to clear something up. The
Dr Mr Matt went to is in Columbia Missouri, not the country Columbia...
