Hello everyone,

I comeon this english forum becausescar treatment techniques seem more advanced than in France where I live. I have read many posts that talked about subcision. Here we do not hear about subcision. For acne scars, the most known treatment is the lazer.

I had different lazer interventions in the past.

In a few weeks, I will havebearings scars (scars elevation with punch you see ?) and mechanical dermabrasionand I wanted to know if some of you had such operations.

I hope that my sentences are understandable.

Hello FrenchySteph! I have done dermabrasions 5 times for my deep scars, after first one they looked a bit better but after all 5 I don't see any changes. Lasers are not that good for deep scars either, and I have read a lot of reviews that they change nothing. The best way is subcision and unfortunately we don't have it in Moscow either. So I came to South Korea and had my first Cora therapy here (accupunture). It's not subcision but it's similar and as doctor said Cora therapy is more effective. I hope so and waiting for my next procedure.

So if you have a chance do subcision but don't waste your time and money for dermabrasions and lasers. Wish you good luck!

Hello Lalena, thank you for your testimony. When you say dermabrasion, are you speaking about lazer dermabrasion or mecanic dermabrasion ?

There is no subcision traitment here but I will have scras elevations before dermabrasion, I don t know if it s a good translation from french, you can see what I mean on this post, photos are at the bottom : http://forum.doctissimo.fr/sante/acne-psoriasis/fractionne-cicatrices-creux-sujet_176366_2.htm

I had mechanic dermabrasions which are deeper than lasers. I don't know what does mean "scar elevations", haven't heard about it before. I don't believe in lasers, they don't work for deep scars. Maybe you you are talking about fat grafting? If so, it's temporary, you will have to do it again and again, but as i have read it works and your scars look much better for some time.

The procedure you are having is called "punch float" or "punch elevation" here. If you use the search function you can find some discussions on it.Both the punch and dermabrasion are both quiteserious, hope you get good results.

If you have the ability travel and are still considering subcision, you may be able to find a doctor in the UK.

people remember, dermabrasion and lasers are used mainly for RESURFACING if you want to lift, elevate your scars you need to do a especific approach in EACH scar such as TCA cross/ Subcision.
Lasers and Dermabrasion works on scars but they are very far from being the most effective method
dont be fooled by scam doctors if you have deep scars first go for subcision or TCA cross or start your own treatment at home with needling as dermaroller/stamp

after you lift up your scars then lasers are awesome for resurfacing the uneveness

Hi everyone,

Lalena, as yourself, I don t believe anymore in lazers. I had lazers interventions in the past so I can judge the efficiency of this traitment and understood the action of it. And I think lazers disorganise dermis. I say "scar elevations" because I don t know how to translate in english. I mean the technic of cutting the scars, detach it and align the bottom of the scar with the level of the skin. The doctor use punch instruments to do this.

PCT14, yes I think this is what you call punch elevation. I will search for discussions about it on the forum. I can t travel so my only hope is that this technic will give me the result I m waiting for.

Alag35, yes the interventions are programmed, I will start in february. I will have scar elevations before then 4 weeks later the mechanic dermabrasion. As I said before, here there is no subcision, the specialistwill cut the scars then elevate them. Can you say what is TCA cross ?

TCA cross is a method that you use the TCA peel(trichloroacetic acid) in very high concentrations and use only on the pitted scar spots to destroy the tissue and lift up the scars, i think they are good for small pitted scar such ice picks, i think subcision are better for more large scars such boxscars and rolling scars

Ok Noa27, I think I know this doctor, some months before I exchanged mails with a doctor from belgium that practised scars elevations and mechanic dermabrasion and subcisions if I remember. But I gave up because of problem of money and professional reason. And also because the doctor proposed to make acid injections under the scars before thinking of chirurgy.

Is there peaple who can give me their opinion on scars elevation (punch and excision) + mechanic dermabrasion ?

I don't think we're talking about same same doctor. Where was your doctor located?

The best treatments are directed at the scars- hence it is the METHOD rather than the machine. If scars are depressed, a good treatment is use of fillers with subcission. I think lasers are indeed over rated. Sure, if someone has multiple shallow box car scars, than fully ablative TLR (total laser resurfacing) can help, esp in fair skin patients.

If you have depressed scars, consider other options such as fillers and subcission. I think a good Specialist for acne scar revision should have all the skills needed- ie. know how to competently perform surgical subscission, fillers, TCA peels, and of course lasers. This gives the best outcomes.

best
