I am not quite sure what level of severity my acne would fall under. I believe I have mild but persistent acne. I am seeing a derm for the first time tomorrow, and I am really hoping to get prescribed isotretinoin. I am just not sure if my acne is severe enough for the treatment, and so I don't know if it would be reasonable to ask my derm about it.
Any thoughts? (pics attached)
Hi! I am not sure where are you are from, but most derms in the US will want to ptry antibiotic therapy and topicals before isotretinoin. I would say the acne on your face is mild - it doesn't appear very inflammed and will probably respond well to a topical. The acne on your back is a bit more moderate.
Thanks for the reply!
My PCP gave me clindamycin phosphate, adapalene, and benzoyl peroxide already with no success. I've also used various facial products like AcneFree, proactiv, neutrogena etc. All the topicals I've taken haven't done much, which is why I was hoping isotretinoin might be the answer
