In my experience, cleansers with active ingredients were never helpful for my cystic acne, and they often irritated my skin which always made the cystic activity worse. I found that non-comodgenic cleansers/moisturizers designed for sensitive skin (i.e. no active ingredients like BP) were best, because they did not cause further inflammation. I've always liked plain old Cetaphil for sensitive skin.
