From Scar To Keloid? *pics Added*

Hi everyone,

I had a robotic ovarian procedure a month ago, and now I'm left with 3 scars (one on bellybutton, the other 2 on the sides of my stomach). I'm putting scar cream that the doctor prescribed (ScarFix, 2x per day). The doctor said I have to avoid sun exposure so that the scars don't become keloid....

I took this photo today (sorry, it's a bit blurry). Do you think my scar is turning into keloid? What can I do to promote healthy scar healing and avoid keloids? The scars on my bellybutton are healing fine, but the ones on the sides of my stomach are more pronounced.

I can take clearer photos if needed.

Any feedback on SkinFix gel or natural remedies to help with healing? Taking vitamin C and using aloe vera topically.

Update: Here are some pics of what my stomach looks like. The doctor changed my prescription from ScarFix to Kelo-cote (for keloids). Should I be worried? The pharmacist who saw my wounds today said they are unusually inflamed, seeing as I had surgery 2 months ago. She said it will most likely not heal completely and I will be left with scars.

What do you guys think?

Hey, don't know if you've already dealt with this, but the first pic looks like a keloid scar. It's hard to tell in the other pictures because they are more zoomed out.

I'm in the process of getting rid of my keloids and based on my experience I would say silicone gel sheets may help you, especially since your scars are still fairly new.

This is the best one I have found: http://www.amazon.com/Cica-Care-Silicone-Sheeting-Sterile/dp/B000BZA9W8

Good luck!

Thanks for your response. I have been using silicone gel sheets, as well as silicone gels, and I see some improvement. I added new photos, let me know what you think!

hi, how are your scars now, did you continue to use the sheets? It seems that you've made some progress

Hi, my scars are still not completely gone but there is some progress. I don't think the keloids will completely go away, though. I will post new photos soon.
