help w/initial

Some doctors will prescribe an antibiotic such as erythromycin in an effort to kill the bacteria and aid in the lessening the severity of the initial breakout. However, do not let your doctor prescribe any oral steroids. While these may seem like they are doing wonders, they can actually cause more acne than you would normally have. Injections of cortisone helped me a lot during the initial breakout period. Granted, having needles shoved into your face isn't fun but at least it makes you look better in a few days.

The other thing I would recommend is Evening Primrose Oil three times a day. It sounds silly to say this will help but I attribute a lot of my lack of acne to taking this supplement.

Good luck. Be patient with your skin during this time and keep us posted!
