My nose bump is not painful, and soft to the touch. It formed after a cyst was there. It's been here for 8 months total, and 5 months without me damaging it. There was another one last year that disappeared after 4-6 months on its own.

5/30/2015

I looked up pictures of nose keloids. I don't reccomend, because they're disgusting and look nothing like ours. So I guess we should go our own route on this. If any of you see specialists, please post what they said it was. I've heard of doctors coming up with different answers, so it probably isn't documented..

So here's some solutions that I've found:

Home Remedies

Rubbing Alcohol (CAUTION)

Tea Tree Oil

Witch Hazel

Things Doc can do

Shaving

Cauterizing

Various laser treatments

"Homemade" methods (Caution):

Burning with sun and magnifying glass

Burning with lighter and copper wire

So I've just bought some Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Oil. Number one rule is DON'T TOUCH! Your bump won't go away if you keep touching it.

You know, I remember, last year I was using Clean and Clear purple N blue (colors of tube) facewash, and my bump eventually went away after I stopped touching it. I guess it's about keeping it clean, and not touching it. Too much bacteria transferred by touch. Don't touch even if you think it's clean. Just don't fucking touch it.

Hey! It might be too early, but I'm seeing improvement! It's starting to flatten out. I've been using Witch Hazel twice a day, and tea tree oil once every other day (at night).

How I apply it:

I wash my nose with a wet paper towel, and after it dries a lil bit, I dip a q-tip in the witch hazel and apply it to the area. I leave it like that and let it dry on there. Afterwards, if I'm using tea tree oil, I wet another q-tip and apply it after the witch hazel has dried a bit.

If you're broke, don't worry. You can get a box of 750 q-tips for around 5 bucks, and never have to buy it again. Just make sure it's made in your country. Applying with a paper towel just won't work. Believe me, I've tried.

should have posted this earlier, but since my last post, there's been some things. I haven't been very consistent with the tea tree oil and witch hazel, but I'm back on it now.

Its been ups and downs, but overall it appears to be much better. There's been some days where it's looked big and awful, but right now it looks good. I think its improving. It usually looks its smallest before bed, so I'll check it in the morning and let ya'll know...

Also,

If I look close, the outer layer looks almost scabby. Like it's drying out or something. Like one day it may come off.

Sometimes my skin feels bad when I do witch hazel twice a day, so I'm lowering it to once a day and do more if I feel I should.

And yeah, next post I'll do some pictures.

This is from May 1st or the day before. Ironically taken just before I bought the Tea Tree Oil and Witch Hazel.

Uhhh you can clearly see the bump from this angle.

I'll post more pictures later today.

My bottom lip is swollen.

This is today's. Now. (though, technically yesterday. I'm not certain when they were taken, actually.)

Hahaha! You thought I wouldn't post some close ups, huh? I just didn't have any cloes ups of it from before I started this. I hate it, but it looks a bit better from before.

Sorry these pictures are so big!

I honestly didn't want to take these pictures at first, but I'm happy I did!

I swear this thing looks so much bigger in person, and it used to be bigger! It could be the fact that it's right before bed, or I'm just obsessive over it because I have to deal with it everyday.

I'm sorry about these last two pictures. I dunno how to remove them!

sorry

sorry

sorry

sorry

sorry

I would like to remove the last four! I messed up!

I uploaded the whole folder of pictures and now if i delete, it becomes a ghost thumbnail thing.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna upload pictures everyday. Maybe once every two weeks, or just when I see fit. Or if you guys ask I might.

I was so pissed this morning because it looked so much bigger when I thought I had been making progress! I missed one day of witch hazel and 2 days of tea tree oil this week. That shouldn't affect it too much, huh! It's said that it takes time. Must be patient...

One person said theirs shrunk to 1/3 the size after 3 months... ugh

She used rubbing alcohol for 1 week, and hers almost dissapeared. only use Witch Hazel for now. I saw progress only using Whitch Hazel witch should be on this topic somewhere, and plus the Witch Hazel I'm using is 14% alcohol, and Tea Tree Oil is Tea Tree Oil. It might not always be good for this type of bump.

My witch hazel ran out of potency! It's sent is no longer strong, and it no longer burns my eyes after applying it. Will update when I get more. My bump is lookin a bit better, though it's too early to tell.

P.S.

If the witch hazel doesn't work, I'm trying alcohol! (with caution after looking up why it's so dangerous)

I realize now this is a keloid. If Witch Hazel doesn't work, you may consider getting it surgically removed.

I did some more research and I'm convinced that these are hypertrophic acne scars that we have! I only see "steroid injections" being thrown around as treatment. I'm sure there's more. I might ask a naturopath about some treatments, or at least look to see if there's alternatives like subscisions, before rushing to the dermatologist so they can shove juice.

Hey dude,

Keep us updated if your bump decreased or if you,ve found any other remedies...im also following your witch hazel regimen though i dont see any results thus far...Any who, im also trying to research several options to get rid of these damn bumps...

Ill post here if ive com across anything that can help

Although, i should mention that our bumps, seemingly simple, is resoundingly difficult to get rid of without any possible consequence(scarring). Our bumps aren't keloids, but are more hypertrophic scarring. Ive done so much research on this that the only thing that my improve it is laser (rf sublative, fraxel, etc)... I couldnt find any success stories that permanently remove them.

Hey dude,

Hey, so I've learned a couple of things.

It has recently come to my attention that my nose bump scar looks different in different mirrors. I will keep this in mind, so I may evaluate it more accurately. I haven't gotten anymore witch hazel yet, and my current one isn't very potent anymore so it's less effective. As far as witch hazel goes, I've learned it eases the swelling. Mine has gotten so low before, that it looked almost flat. Hopefully witch hazel can get it gone.

Right now, it's looking pretty average. I'm still applying that weak wiitch hazel until I get some more, which should be today or tomorrow.

Hey, guys. I'm frustrated and don't want to waste too much time with this. If witch hazel doesn't end up working out, I'll look into some other natural treatments, but I'll mainly be looking at removal of the scar by some specialist.

Anyone reading this, what are your thoughts on surgery for yourselves? I know some of you have multiple scars on your nose, and removal may not be as appealing to you.

As for the scar, it's its average. pretty big I'm still using the witch hazel that's low on potency. I completely forgot to stop by the pharmacy and get more witch hazel.

Sorry everybody. Been super sick which has been affecting my results. I will post when I get better. As for status: average. Pretty big, but not the biggest it's been.

Honestly, when I use the witch hazel the first time, I saw major improvement, If the witch hazel doesn't work this trial, I'm going to the derm because I have better insurance now that actually covers things. Please feel free anyone, if you want to post your results.

Sorry guys, I know you're mad. I got sick twice in a row, that's why I've been off so long.

Anyway, I'm goingmto the dermatologist on friday, and I'll let you know what happens. After that, I'll start my second trial of Witch Hazel either this weekend or next monday. I'll start off by taking a picture of it before I begin. I'll see how it is after 10 days. Then I'll probably continue until I feel like stopping.

Okay, so I got back from doc yesterday, and she prescribed me retin-A for my nose bump scar, and some shampoo for my Tinea Versicolor fungus. She said I have to apply retin A for 3 months to see results. I'm sure the same goes for witch hazel which I posted about the 3 months before through my own research.

I'm currently doing research. I'm struggling to decide whether or not I should use the retin A. I'm thinking about sticking with the witch hazel for 3 whole months! but I don't have the patience for that! I want this stupid shit gone. So, just a bit more research, and I'll have my decision.

So far, I know:

Retin A has a severely negative effect on people with eczema. I don't have that, so whatever.

Retin A is said to peel layer off the skin, severely irritating the area it was applied to. That's worrying because what if the scar tissue becomes weaker over time and the end result is awful?

Retin A is said to be toxic. I'm completely against toxins, as I'm healing and we all are probably healing since we have acne. Toxins are one of the main causes of the reaction which is acne. But its only going to be applied to one small area on my nose.

Retin A dries out the area its applied to. Whatever. I don't know how good or bad this is for scars. more research coming soon.

Tea Tree Oil is said to actually heal scars, whereas Witch Hazel is said not likely to heal most scars but also said to heal nose bump scars over a 3 month period of time, whereas Alcohol is said to be dangerous but reduces nose bump scars very rapidly (some dissappeared as quick as week).

I guess Retin A is most similar to witch hazel, except more processed.

http://www.realself.com/review/columbus-retin-a-thinned-skin-damaged-skin-barrier-retin-good-for-the-skin

- Retin A thins the epidermis and damages the skin barrier.

I don't know how good this is for hypertrophic scars.

This was interesting. I considered doing this, but the skin where the bump was is hideous. I can't go out like that for a whole month.

I'm wanting to stay natural, but I want something super effective. I've considered alcohol for a week, and I'm looking into other things. In the meantime, I'm still applying witch hazel every day.

Eyy! Check this one, too. It's with Apple Cider Vinegar instead of Distilled Vinegar, and it's more easy going. I'm planning on doing the distilled one tonight, though.
