Can Bc Surpress Acne That's Caused By Food Intolerances?

Recommended Posts

Hej there!

Currently I am absolutely clueless about the cause of my acne.

Backstory: Around the age of 16/17 I started having breakouts that developed into comedone acne (I think. I had loads of tiny bumps on my forehead and cheeks, as well as on my nose and temples and some whiteheads. Hardly any bigger inflamed spots).

When I started taking the pill at 18 my skin quickly cleared and I never had a single pimple. Now at 22 I stopped taking it 6-7 months ago and my acne came back slowly and I now look like I did when I was 16 …

I am aware that acne can happen up to a year after you stop takig the pill, but I am not really convinced that my breakouts are caused by not taking the pill anymore because I think my skin gets slightly worse still.

My form of acne doesn't look like the typical hormonal acne (?) so I thought maybe I had an intolerance to some foods (soy, gluten, dairy) back then and now still (although I'm vegan now and were vegetarian back then) or something was wrong with my guts (candida, …).

BUT if that were the case my acne would have persisted while I was on the pill, wouldn't it? Or can BC even prevent allergy-caused acne?!

Same thing if it were caused by a bad lifestyle (no excercise, loads of sugar, stress – which definitely was the case when I was 16/17), right?

I'm totally confused, please help me!

(P.S.: English is my second language so please bear with me!)
