Hello! So about two years ago I ended my accutane treatment, I had pretty bad acne. Now that it's settled down I was wondering what are effective ways to help fade the numerous amounts of nasty scars and pits on my face. I am trying out the dermastamp 1.5 mm and have used it three times in a span of 4 months, if I keep going at it with patience and longer gaps between treatments will that help? Unless there are other options out there then please let me know!
I have taken pictures in different lightings to get a general idea of how bad it is.
Thank you!
First of all clear up your acne, if one course of Accutane did not help try another one. Doing treatments while having so much active acne can result in even more acne and infections. Dermarolling/Dermastamp wont help much in my opinion, you need to do lasers such as Fraxel Repair or Deep FX.
Also, maybe abit unorthodox, but look into Dutasteride, I have been taking it for my hair loss and I have noticed that it helped my skin also. Hair loss & acne are caused by DHT, Dutasteride is very effective at blocking DHT.

Yeah, I would take care of the remaining acne before attempting any scar treatments. Dermastamping over inflamed, active acne is not a good idea. As for scar treatments down the road, I feel like a broken record, but probably subcision for the rolling scars and maybe TCA cross for the icepicks. Laser is an option, but my feeling is that resurfacing procedures are best done at the very end when you have elevated the scars as much as possible. It's like trying to level a mountain, where if you make the valleys shallower (subcision, TCA Cross) you don't have take down more of the peaks (resurfacing). Also you will find that as the hyperpigmentation fades, the scars do appear to be shallower because redness just exaggerates the depth.
I can also attest to the staying up late part. Looking back, I know that my chronic insomnia contributed to the severity of my acne. My genetics meant that I was always going to get bad acne, but not getting enough sleep made it so much worse. It raises cortisol levels in your body (stress hormone) and just makes your skin look terrible.
You must be using a topical that irritating the hell out of your skin. I can tell because you're only getting cystic breakouts that don't come to a head. Stop with it, be it Retin A, Benzoyl or Sali. Stick to a gentler skin care routine.
I as well can also attest that diet made the most difference for me. Switching to a plant based diet didn't cure my acne but significantly improved it. I suggest you clean up your diet. Cut the dairy and get into a habit of eating whole foods, be it plant based or non, basically cutting out the processed crap.
Once you get your acne under control you can get subcision done.
Oh my god
