In early December I went into my dermatologist and was prescribed tretinoin (generic retin-a) and clindamycin lotion. At about the 1 1/2 month mark my skin was almost completely clear, but everything has been downhill since then. Before starting this regimen my acne was mainly on my forehead, and maybe one or two on my cheeks. Now, my cheeks, chin, and nose are majorly breaking out along with my forehead and it seems to be getting worse every day.... I am so incredibly frustrated because I want this to work not only for clearing up my acne now, but also for preventing wrinkles when Im older (I'm 22).
Anyone have any experience/advice with this?
I was in the same boat. Completely clear using tretinoin then started breaking out again. I added Benzoyl Peroxide back and it helped a lot, like way more than it ever did before tretinoin. I now use both on a regular basis and it keeps my breakouts to a minimum and when I do get them they go away over night.
