White Pus Zits Around Mouth And Chin! - Help! Help!

This is my comment from 2 years ago. This is what cured me. I had it from 2007 to 2018.

Remember. Leave chlorhexidine (hibiclens) in your nose for 5 to 7 minutes. Then flush it out with water. Same with povidone iodine.

For BP, I started off with benzagel 2.5% only on mouth and problem areas and would leave it on all day (never applied on cheeks as they're really sensitive to BP and can burn). Now I use acne.orgs BP2.5% and moisturize after 10minutes. However, when I first started, I was leaving it on all day as I wanted to cure myself asap and was worried it would come back even after I had healed. It took me 2 years to only leave it on for 10minutes.

I read through other comments which say simpleskincarescience.com is not useful. To be honest, he has a lot of useful content but his page is aimed towards fungal acne. You can develop fungal acne by overusing benzoyl peroxide and then you'll end up need antifungal stuff to get rid of it. So be careful with BP. Use it all day till the problem is fully gone and then only for 10min and apply moisturizer right after which deactivates it or even just wash it off.

Also dont forget to check [Removed mention] content on understanding how to apply chlorhexidine into your nose.

What strength does the iodine need to be? Lots if different strengths with coupled ingredients (im in the uk)

And to clarify. You clean your nose with a q tip for 30 seconds then leave it for 5-7 minutes yeah?

Thus far my folocilitus is this worst its ever been. My face is very aggravated, and i have more pustules now than ever... I'll continue with this rotuine, even though im very doubtful ill be cured. I'll give another update here in a week or so.

Have you been tested for a fungal infection or demodex skin mites?  Folliculitis can be caused by bacteria, fungus or demodex.  The treatment for each cause is completely different.  It is also possible that the anti-bacterial hibclens is making a fungal infection worse.

If your skin condition is cyclical it could be demodex.  Demodex skin mites live and die on a 2-3 week cycle.  With demodex the pustules occur when the mites die.   It is also possible to have demodex with either a bacterial or a fungal infection.  In that case the mites track bacteria and/or fungus around with them when they come out at night to mate.  When they return to the pores or oil glands they track the infecting agent back down in the pores and/or oil glands with them.

The hibclens anti-bacterial cleanser will only help the bacterial form of folliculitis.

If the cause is fungus, you need an anti-fungal treatment.  Topical and oral treatments are available.

If the cause is demodex, you need an anti-parasitic treatment.  The 2 week, cheap generic, Oral Ivermectin + Oral Metronidazole has been shown to be highly effective.  I took this for demodex and it worked after years of misdiagnosis as bacterial acne.  Cost with insurance was just $13.03 - Full cash retail is about $52.   Topical Ivermectin is available in the expensive prescription Soolantra (1%) cream or stronger non-prescription Horse Paste (1.87% ivermectin) available on Amazon for $5 per tube.  Topical treatment is for milder cases and takes about 16 weeks.

Here's the link to the medical study of 120 patients with Demodex Follucularum using the 2 drug combined oral treatment vs. just Oral Ivermectin:

"Evaluation of the efficacy of oral ivermectin in comparison with ivermectin–metronidazole combined therapy in the treatment of ocular and skin lesions of Demodex folliculorum"

Anyone else found a different approach to this cancer infection?

im really tired of this no dairy low sugar diet

Me too my friend.

My last hope is that all digestion and acne-related issues can be solved with a long water fast. I've been preparing myself for a very long fast(40 days), by having a bunch of smaller ones, like go for 10-14 days without food, which gave my body time to heal and get used to it(Btw those fasts cured my asthma).

In around 10 days I will be hoping on this hopefully last fast that should last 40 days, and if that doesn't fix the issue I'm giving up.

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I came here.

I didn't have the courage to read all the pages that I missed. However, I have an advice for you : a few months ago, I came across an article promoting the La Roche-Posay (a L'Oreal brand) products against eczema. These products are the "Lipikar AP Baume" and the "Syndet AP cleanse gel". And these two products also seem VERY useful against folliculitis !

Why ? Because they contain a bacteria named "Vitreoscilla filiformis" which studies have shown to favorably modifying our skin flora, in particular by reducing the number of Staphilococcus aureus (cause of eczema but also often folliculitis). In a simple way : it normalizes skin microbiota. Indeed, our skin problems come from a modification of our skin flora (it becomes too diverse). Vitreoscilla filiformis thus stimulates the production of good bacteria and also the "expression of antimicrobial peptides in the skin". Furthermore, these products are VERY hydrating.

You can read a study about this innovation here : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5238811/

Since I use it, my skin is far far better. Combined with benzoyl peroxide and/or essential oil, you'll have big improvment, believe me. It's a french company so I hope you can find it easely on your country...

That said, I continue to think that our problem come from a deeper probleme : our gut permeability and microflora. In France, we have a doctor named Dr. Donatini who developped a really promising approach. According to him, all our problems are linked to immune problems that find their cause in our intestinal flora. Thats why many of us have intestinal problems (like SIBO or IBS) and skin at the same time (like @Benbenzer said). A naturopath trained by this doctor prescribed me a useful protocol for two months : oregano essential oil pill, lactoferrin, diet without FODMAP etc.

I also continue to believe that Medical Medium is on a good way. Every day I read fabulous stories on instagram about people suffering from acne, eczema and other heavy desorder healed thanks to its protocl (notably celery juice wich helps your stomach by increasing the level of Hydrochloric acid). Also "spiritual" approach can be useful. Our spirit have a huge influence on our body...

Low glycemic diet is also a good way to limit the bumps. Also "lactofferinn" is a usefull supplement according to some studies concerning acne (it limits the amount of sebum on your skin and kills pathogenic bacterias by preventing them from dropping iron).

Is it Lipikar Baume Ap+ or Ap+M cause I see there are 2 different products

?

Folliculitis can be caused by bacteria, fungus or demodex skin mites.   The focused treatments for each type do not work on the other 2 types.  A specific antibacterial treatment will not work on the fungal form and vice versa.  Neither antibacterial only or antifungal only treatments work on demodex.    What to do if you don't know which type you have?     Take an anti-microbial approach to treatment.  Anti-microbial products can work on all 3 types of folliculitis.   Here are 2 product types that are widely available on Amazon and some stores as well.

Hypochlorous Acid Spray is antimicrobial and 99.9% effective against bacteria, fungus and the juvenile nymph form of Demodex Skin Mites.  Hypochlorous Acid Spray is highly effective in very low concentrations at just 0.01% to 0.02% acid so it is not irritating at all.  Hypochlorous Acid is a substance made by the human body in response to microbes.  So it shouldn't cause allergic reactions.   Tea Tree oil is also antimicrobial.

A Tea Tree Oil facial cleanser followed by spraying the face with hypochlorous spray at least twice daily could help.

There are a number of good tea tree oil facial cleansers on the market:   Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Original face wash, The Body Shop Tea Tree oil cleanser or foaming face wash, etc.

There are a number of good Hypochlorous Acid Spray products for the face available on Amazon like BRIOTECH Topical Skin Spray (0.02%) at $11.95 for 4 ounces.  Spray on clean face, massage in with clean fingers and let dry.   Use a moisturizer after if you like.

If this stuff has gotten in your hair, a tea tree oil shampoo could help that as well.

Apologies for the disgusting photo but I am suffering with the same problem. Sometimes it's so bad i dont want anyone to see me but the majority of the time, luckily, its not TOO bad. However, there is almost always at least one pustule in the mouth area. The pustules then pop and form a crust. I feel so disgusting and am afraid people will think I'm dirty. My doctor has been useless and even told me they were cold sores!! I do notice it gets worse when I'm stressed or when I eat spicy food do at the moment I'm trying to change my lifestyle to see if it improves.

Plz ignore my Grammar

Hello everyone,

After completely cleared for 2long year(BP 2.5 % gel base helped me a lot). This zit (shit) reappeared on aug 2020 (same month I lost my job too) this 2year I didn't maintain any kind of diet, I was drink smoke and eat everything (accept chocolate and sweet). Because of job loss I was in lot of stress and anxiety and  this zits on face making things worst. So I decided to see dermatologist and took some antibiotics, as usual I got cleared in 2 days so I decided to stop using antibiotics, after few days without antibiotics zit reappeared in same place(under nose and chin). As I observed whenever I'm in stress I get this zit more and from past 8year this zit appear more in winter season(if anyone feel same plz reply).

So i decided to stop using antibiotics for good and started  washing my face 4 time a day(plz don't do this it will harm your skin) with Extreme oil removing face wash which made my face really dry and used turmeric on zit(didn't work that well) switched back to diet, controlled my drink habit smoking habit, started jogging, positive thinking, motivated myself. After all this also I was not completely cleared. Someday it's worst and someday it just not that worst.

One day i had itching between my toe finger so I used this cream called SAIBOL(not antibiotic and can be used for cures,Pimples,Cuts,Itches, Boils,Eczema, Scabies,Tinea cruris) .On that cream label I saw that it can be used for Pimple, so out of no option I put this SAIBOL CREAM ON ZIT(only at night time and in morning I  put BP 2.5% gel base). After USING SAIBOL MY SITUATION GRADUALLY IMPROVED and after 9 DAYS THIS ZITS cleared.

I don't no should i recommend this cream to you guys or not. I know how it feels to have that zits come out of nowhere even when we done everything right and it still appear on every important day of our life. For now I'm using BP 2.5% in morning( moisturizer after 30 min) and SAIBOL on zits at night, which is WORKING FOR ME for now.

  IMP*

IF ANYONE IN CHAT KNOW IF THIS @SAIBOL CREAM( Saibol contains zinc oxide, salycylic and boric acid, sulphacetamine sodium and white soft paraffin  )IS HARMFUL PLEASE LET ME KNOW and this SAIBOL CREAM  is only available in INDIA I think. If any one wants this cream means I can HELP YOU OUT GUYS to get this cream. SAIBOL COST only 35rupees in india.

I'm not PROMOTING his products or anything. I just need to help out someone who is fed up of this zits. If anyone out of India who is willing to try  this SAIBOL  cream I can help you out guys. Below I also attached the link for buying cream.

 https://www.apollopharmacy.in/saibal-15gr.html

AGAIN I'M NOT RECOMMENDING ANYONE TO USE THIS SAIBOL CREAM, ONLY IF YOU ARE WILLING TO TRY PLZ TRY.

Sorry for the delay, i don't come her very often.

Take Ap+M : this is the new product. Same thing but with an additional ingredient anti staph. I also put few drops of tea tree oil in my hand when i use this cream too. And I sometimes use BP 5% (everytime after shaving).
Today my skin is far better than there is 2 years ago.

Otherwise, I read good stuff about Azelaic acid. It seems efficient against folliculitis and seb dermatits, two diseases i have. I need to investigate.

It remembers me my skin there is 6 years ago. Pustules were ugly and could appears in one houre. Sometimes, it was clearly linked to what I ate. My emotional condition was also very influent.

Try my routine :

- Apply 1 to 5minutes benzoyle peroxyde 2,5% on the affected areas (test it progressivly because  your skin must get used to this product which can burn the first days)

- Wash your face with "Syndet AP+ cleanse gel"

- Apply "Lipikar AP+ Balm" on your face (moisturing is very important even if you find your skin very oily) and put few drops of tea tree oil in the moisturer
Ps : i use everyday the balm and the cleanse gel, and a bottle can last one year, so it is very cheap.

- Eat less sugar and fat.

- Wash your hands. Don't touche your pimples if you can.

- Do medidation or yoga + sport.

- Secondarily : drink lemon juice the morning + take some plants like burdock (good for oily skin + liver) + look at vit D + zinc complements.

It'll help you a lot until we find the root cause of the problem. My skin was like you (but also on the cheeks + back of the neck). I am 90% clear. Sometimes I do not have any pustules. Compare to my skin there is 6years ago, it is paradise.

Never take antibiotics (oral like doxycycline or topical like fucidine : it work few weeks and then it come back stronger + destroy your intestinal and skin microbiota)

(Ps : you also can try the routine of silverlight22 : hibiclens only in the nose few weeks. But don't joke with antiseptic product like this, it is not good for the skin in general.)

Hi guys,

I have been sharing this problem since 2016, I find myself in every story I read here, depressed, losing self esteem, relationships, jobs and so on. Right now, I have about 5-6 pustules around my mouth and I have a pretty solid ideea why I have them. I know most of you said that diary and gluten does not seem to be the problem but it looks like they affect my skin 100% of the time. I have been reading the labels on everything I consume and I have to tell you that milk and gluten is found in pretty much all things we eat. I found traces of milk even in spices. Right now, I decided to eat only fruits, vegetables, white meat (mostly fish) and rice, nothing else. Everytime I consume any ammount of milk, even food that says "may contain milk", my stomach aches, diarrhea, I feel bloated, my left side of the body (liver side) aches too.

Best of luck,

Rob

I tried a gluten and dairy free diet but it did not improve my symptoms. However, I discovered that FODMAP are the main cause of my digestive conditions. FODMAP include glucids found in some dairy products (lactose) and some grain (it's not the gluten the problem wich is a protein and not a glucid). So not eating food contenaining Fodmap helps me a lot.
However, the root cause is certainly deeper (a dysbiose wich affect our gut and then our skin). There is a link between these symptoms i am sure.

Good explanations about dairy here :  https://www.dairynutrition.ca/scientific-evidence/roles-on-certain-health-conditions/is-there-a-link-between-acne-and-milk-products-summary-of-evidence?_ga=2.54815533.706740862.1616409461-1059679095.1616409461

Hi everyone,

I've been using this facewash for 2 weeks now and I'm clear. Red spots to heal and that's all. A miracle I'd say. The way I have used this facewash - first 3 days just once a day, first washed my hands very good, washed my face very good, gently half dried it, applied the facewash with the top of my fingers, left it for a min or so and after that with little water on my face I started to massage all over the place until it turned into a foam for about 2 minutes after that just made sure to rinse very good, fully dried the face again with a towel and applied a non-oil mosturiser. After 3 days I started doing this twice a day.

Has anyone ever heard or tried phage therapy (Bacteriophages) to treat these bacterial infections?  Sounds very interesting and wonder if something like this could cure us. I’ve recently learned that there’s also topical treatments that utilize the same concept.

Have you been tested for SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)?  SIBO is one other thing that can cause the gastric symptoms you mention as well as the skin issues.  You can also get tested for lactose intolerance.  Could be either cause or both.

Just wana share what I did to finally cure 100% of pustules and seb derm after years of trying everything. Please don't do extreme diets like no carbs, which has an effect on your skin but will fuck you up long-term. I got appendicitis from it. My solution is the Acne.org regimen, which has benzoyl peroxide as active ingredient. I understand all the pain and how this disease screw up every aspect of our lives. Please don't give up. I hope this can help you.

I have very similar looking acne to others in this thread (big white pustules around the mouth and nose)

I've always gotten pustules like this once in a while, but usually only found around the creases on the sides of my nose

but for some reason earlier this year I started getting terrible breakouts every week, with them appearing all around my nose and mouth. I also get them on my upper chin, but those are covered by my beard so they don't bother me. The ones that drive me insane are the ones that appear between my upper lip and nose (see below image).

I've also been getting pimples INSIDE my nose, which makes me think its something bacterial (staph?)

I think it's been months since I've even been able to go a single week without having these

I never used to bother using cleanser or anything (just rinsed face in shower), but a few months ago I started using a gentle cleanser every morning and evening and it doesn't seem to have helped at all

I noticed they seem to respond well to benzol peroxide, but that stuff really irritates my already angry skin, I thin perpetuating the breakout cycle.

I've only tried 10% though (it was already sitting in my medicine cabinet). I've been doing 'short contact' therapy to try and limit the irritation.

I'm going to try switching to 2.5% as I've heard that's just as effective, with less irritation

You can get a staph infection inside the nose.  You should see a doctor for that infection ASAP.   Staph infection in the nose occurs in 26% of patients on Accutane.  They are encouraged to get medical treatment immediately.  A staph infection like that can spread to internal organs especially the heart leading to potentially life threatening heart damage if left untreated.

Benzoyl Peroxide can be very drying and irritating.  I had the same problem with irritation and dryness using especially the 10% and 5%.  There is a really good option, HOCL spray to treat skin infections.  Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) is chemical produced by the human body in response to infections.  HOCL is a very weak acid but a VERY strong antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and kills juvenile demodex skin mites.    HOCL is non-irritating but very potent killing 23 strains of bad bacteria in one study.  HOCL does not kill the "good" bacteria that is a normal and healthy part of the skin's environment.   HOCL is used to sanitize hospital ICUs and operating rooms, medical and dental offices.  The medical industry has used HOCL since WWI to clean battlefield wounds when they didn't have antibiotics.   Tattoo artists and Piercers recommend HOCL spray to their clients to help them heal up clean.   HOCL is non-irritating to the skin and eyes.   HOCL spray has no preservatives.  HOCL is made by putting electrodes into salt water.  There are no other ingredients but HOCL, a pinch of salt and water, so its super safe, non-irritating and highly effective.  Zero safety warnings.

You can buy it on Amazon.   There are numerous brands that are good including Heyedrate, Occusoft Hypochlor and BrioTech.  I've used the others but currently use BrioTech since it is very affordable.  Currently its $11.95 for a 4 ounce bottle.  This is the same brand that the Tattoo Artists and Piercers recommend to their clients to heal without infection.   Here';s the Amazon link:

https://www.amazon.com/BRIOTECH-Topical-Skin-Spray-Hypochlorous/dp/B00YZDHMWW/

Instructions:   Apply after washing your face.   Spray on face and beard.  Lightly massage it in with clean fingers.  You can use this spray as often as you like (during the day as well as right after washing the face).

i know it is too late to post here. but for anyone who suffered from this hellish thing, please read my post. I FOUND A CURE,
i saw the poster on the first post and i tell you that was a way milder than my problem. i have the same problem but worse than yours, tiny white pus all over my mouth chin and bearded area, and it is spreading to all the hair follices i have on my beard. it is very disgusting and my brother told me it is like alien was laying egg on my face.

it destroys my self esteem. make me feel i don't deserve to live. i know exactly what you feel guys, because this disease is not like a normal pimple, it is very destroying, itchy and uncomfortable feel.

i am 26 yo asian men, with very oily skin and acne prone. i have beard and i shave regullary.

i remember i started getting this when i was on my 2nd grade of high school. and at that point i was still natural little boy with no course of medication/antibiotic. so i think it has nothing to do with antibiotic drawback.

the very first medication i had was trimetoprim sulfametazole, its kind of antibiotic, and i take it for a couple of months, the pills did control the infection but when i started to take off everything going back to what it was before.

then i go to dermatologist and he prescribe me with clyndamicyn, he told me this was bacterial infection. and i agree with him because it responds well to antibiotic.i take it for about 2 weeks, its doing great on my skin and when the pills ran out like any other antibiotic, the infection start again.

i think clyndamicyn didn't work. so i decide to take doxycycline. doxy did wonder on my skin, all the pus has gone and my skin look so smooth and flawless. but when i take off of this med, the infection back much worse. the worst breakout of my life is when i finish my doxy course.

i tried water only method, thinking that maybe it is related to the chemical on my face wash, but my idea is wrong, water metod only gives me dry skin with lots of dead skin cells and only make my breakout even worse.

i bought so many skincare product from the cheap ones to the expensive ones. some of them work and some of them ends up as a ornament on my desk. the only thing i haven't try yet is accutane. maybe i will take my accutane course next year. because this year i want to focus on dermaroler treatment to heal my pitted scars on my cheek left by the young age acne i had. i heard that after you take accutane, you should wait for at least 3 month before starting dermaroller. because your skin is very weak due to accutane. so i decided to try dermaroller first.

it is going to be a long post. but please read this, we got same problem and we are seeking for solution here. maybe my experience can help you. i truly understand how this disease destroy lifes. but believe me it is treatable.

the only thing i think work to stop the infection (based on my experience):
1. blue light therapy. i did it several time when i was on college, it realy control the infection and make that fucking pus disapear in one night, right after treatment. it soothe the skin and kills bacterial deep within your pores, where other medication can't penetrate. so it make sense. but it is costly, and it is temporary solution. you have to do the light once per two week. i think i better stop because it damaging my wallet. the result was great tho.

2. washing your face with gentle antibacterial cleanser and apply propolis and garlic extract on the infected areas. i did this method when i was frustated with my condition. had to save money. it helps drying up pus but it takes time. about two week and you will see the pus started to dry and peel as you wash your face.

3. and the holy grail item is..
i don't know how to say it.
it is some kind of ointment or serum i get from one of aestethican clinic in my city. this serum is my life saver. the only think that work to control the pus and the price is affordable. it is liquid and smells like onion. now i am in my 2nd years of this serum and i cannot get off of it. i use this serum until now. because i think its the only think to work now.
but everything has a price. i need to use it forever. yes forever. because when i am not using it for about two week. the infection started again. but not worse. i know it seems like a dangerous things. but the doctor told me there was no sterioid and antibiotic on that ointment. and i can use it as long as i need. so i feel less worried. now this ointment is my life saver. it makes everything disapear in just three days. i think i will stick to it for a while. i know it is not the ultimate solution to cure my problem. but at least it's saving my life now. because my bearded area is clear now.
unfortunately you might not be able to get this ointment in your city. but there is hope.

to end my post. i think i would say that this disease is very reccurent. and you should treat it for whole of your life. because we and maybe all the dermatologist out there does not know what is the root of this nightmare. and for now. i would stick to something that work to atleast i would say cure it temporary. but without getting into your system like pills did.
hope this help. sorry for bad english.

UPDATE.

acne.org regime clear me very well !

You don't have to use acne.org product. Use any benzoyl peroxide gel with 2,5% strength.

Remember to be very gentle. Use getle soap to wash your face, in this case i use johnshon top to toe cotton touch baby wash.

For moisturizer i use benton snail bee high content essence.

If it works for me. Maybe it'll works for you too.

I never worried about zit/puss arround my mouth again.

Note : you don't have to apply BP everyday. Apply only once every other day. Apply on nighttime before bed. Don't apply BP on daytime because it makes your face red.

HOCL is a very weak acid but a VERY strong antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and kills juvenile demodex skin mites chemical produced by the human body.   It is non-irritating but very potent killing 23 strains of bad bacteria in one study.

Here''s the Amazon link:

https://www.amazon.com/BRIOTECH-Topical-Skin-Spray-Hypochlorous/dp/B00YZDHMWW/

Instructions:   Apply after washing your face.   Spray on face and beard.  Lightly massage it in with clean fingers.  You can use this spray as often as you like (during the day as well as right after washing the face).

Wow, the hocl works GREAT! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

It looks like I don't even need to use BP anymore

Been using it for about a week (applying after cleansing, before moisturizing) and my skin already looks and feels better than it has in MONTHS

The acne is almost completely gone

Redness is down significantly

Dry and tight feeling is gone

Skin looks smooth and moisturized throughout the day (applying this before moisturizing seems to have really enhanced the efficacy of the moisturizer I was using, probably because I have hard water so making my face moist with something 'pure' like this before moisturizing really seems to help).

I've even been spraying/swabbing it in my nostrils and it seems to be clearing up the pimples there as well (but I do plan to see a doctor just in case)

Awesome!   HOCL is amazing.  Definitely check with your doctor on the possibility of staph infection in the nose.  A staph infection can be quite serious if it spreads to your heart.

That's great mate. Have you stopped using BP completely, i mean is it enough to just use HOCL alone? And did u get this condition after accutane or antibiotics?
