Is anybody of you experiencing digestive issues at the same time?

i kinda felt I had this under control over the past months but out of nowhere I started getting digestive problems like heavy farting. At the same time I saw these bumps coming back - not to badly, but still - so this leaves me thinking that this must be sticked to the gut?

Topical or antibiotic treatments do not work. Tried everything over the last 5 years so I feel comfortable on telling that putting something on your face will clear this up will not work.

Even with dietary approaches I’m not to confident saying these things would be a remedy. I tried keto, vegan, gluten free, fodmaps diet all to no major improvement.

the only thing I noticed is that not worrying to much about this would help. When I saw myself not thinking about this I definitely saw improvements in my skin. Don’t know if this is related or just a coincidence but when I start being concerned about my looks or appearance too much I notice this coming back.

since the request came up lately again: I offered to set up a group chat on WhatsApp so we could communicate even better a couple pages ago - this offer is still pending, just send me a text with your number and we get this going.

I've had a breakout recently and about the same time I also noticed a significant increase in my flatulence. Bad heartburn too. I slowed my eating down, I usually eat pretty fast but didnt notice a different.

I'm currently dairy free, however I haven't noticed any difference yet.

Lastly I've cut out drinking tea. I'm hoping maybe I'm allergic and that cutting it out will cure my acne... clutching at straws here.

Of course it is an allergy or sensitivity in the gut. I wrote a number of times here,  just eating meat, only meat without anything else, will probably stop all your issues(digestion, acne) after 2 or 3 weeks. However the diet approach won't solve the underlying issue, but won't trigger it as well. My only bet here is finding the right probiotic strains to populate the gut with the good bacteria, as we're probably deficient due to antibiotics.

Can this be antibiotics from any medication? I've never taken any for for acne, but plenty for other medical issues...

Have you been experimenting with different probotics?

Neither have I the ones for acne, but plenty for medical issues when I was younger. All antibiotics pretty much destroy the good and the bad bacteria, which leads to bad bacteria taking over in some people and causing different issues.

I am experimenting at the moment with two different probiotics. One of them I'm taking for a month now, and the other one for a week. No major improvements so far, but I learned from clinical trials that it takes at least 2 months to see any results. The second probiotic that I'm taking is pretty much formulated for skin issues, so still not losing hope :)

What is the second probiotic called? I would be keen to give it a try.

I think I'm not strict enough with my dairy exclusion and usually after a couple of weeks my skin gets no better so I give up, though I know it takes about 6 weeks.

Well 6 weeks sounds too long. I usually see the improvement starting after 2 or 3 weeks, and after that no more acne as long as I don't break the diet. However, it's not enough to remove just dairy, you have to remove everything except meat(look into 0 carbs diet), because you don't know exactly to which food you are sensitive, it could be a combination. But then again, there's no much point in doing any diet because sooner or later we're gonna end up eating the "forbidden fruit", so it must fixed permanently in the gut.

The second probiotic that I mentioned is this one. As I wrote before, the thing with probiotics is that you have to be patient, which is really hard for most people. Here you can find a very interesting podcast with the co-founder of the company making that probiotic, giving a bunch of probiotic related info, among which is why it doesn't work immediately. It's a long one but worth listening.

Very interesting. Is there any reason you chose that one specifically? Its about £80 here in the U.K, that's pretty darn expensive. In saying I have poor digestion, severe heartburn and obviously the acne problem too. So if it even improved one of those I would be happy.

Well, I have exhausted pretty much all options when it comes to having clear skin, and now I won't even ask for the price if there is a good chance that it would cure me. I bought at the price of $49(didn't know it's £80 for UK, that's a lot!) which comes with 2 months supply. The co-founder said they will return the money for unsatisfied customers after using the product for 90 days I think, so I pretty much have nothing to lose if it doesn't work out. I never asked for the money back before, but it's good to know :)

I accidentally came across this product when I was looking for a probiotic specifically designed to target skin issues. Strangely, there's not much probiotic products out there with that tagline. I do have sensitive, flaky, dry skin(as well as oily :( ) which this is supposed to fix.

Well that describes my skin fairly accurately. I'll keep looking and see if I can get one for a better price, especially if it's almost half the price in the U.S. if not I might try finding an alternative here.

Yeah that's smart. You don't have to spend money actually, after 60 days I'll post here my experience which could help you decide if it is worth it.

@acnocalypse

Following your advice, I stopped using benzoyl peroxide and started with calendula. I also don't eat dairy products, pretty much trying to go with chicken, rice and vegetables. Some pustules are still popping up, but it's expectable quitting the bp. Not as bad as it used to be though.

Calendula definitely reduces the overall redness of my face, I've been using it for 7 days now and see some positive signs. I'm afraid to get too hyped, but I hope that in the following weeks it will be the miracle cure we all need and want.

Do you guys get acne elsewhere too? I also get acne on my scalp, shoulders and back. Not as aggressive or noticeable as my face but it's still there.
