It's strange that L'oreal is the only thing that doesn't break me out, from drugstores, to department stores and boutiques, but my derm said don't wear any makeup.

I had a bad reaction to Bare Minerals, but another poster just guided me to Ella Rose Minerals. There is an etsy store with some products, and *URL REMOVED see board rules: http://www.acne.org/board-rules.html Acne.org Moderator Team* is the actual storefront. The concealer has MSM (!!!! amazeballs)

Buying now, will update.

I am really happy with Clinique foundations. They range from light coverage to heavy coverage. I've used them all, and used them together too! All hyper allergenic and good for sensitive skin. Professional makeup but the cheapest high quality makeup I've found.

Love love LOVE Estee Lauder double wear. The key is to MAKE sure you wash all of it off at night before your normal acne regimen.

Hey Girls, thank you so very Much for the Response!!!!!

@turnover your post reminded me that i used to tolerate l'oreal Produkts when my acne was not very severe. I might give it another Try. I will definately check the other one out.

I have never used any Clinique Produkts . I have read controvertial Review on them But i guess every Skin reacts differently. I might Try them out if i Don't find anything More promising.

Thanks for the advice on este lauder as wall. I am Sure it is a great foundation. I know from experience, however , that heavy foundations are not for me.

If anyone Else wants to Share their Holy grail foundation, please Do!!!!!

P.s. sorry fort the typing-the autocorrection!!

I LOVE Make Up For Ever HD foundation. I've been using it for probably 5 years now and it's been with me throughout my acne journey. It doesn't break me out and has AMAZING coverage! And you don't need a whole lot so I don't think it's too expensive considering how long it lasts. I have pretty oily skin too so that in combination with the MUFE primer will stay on my face all day.

I started using Skin79's BB cream foundations and I LOVE them. I also use an airbrush powder over it (I always forget what it's called, but it's like 6 bucks at Walmart and it's AMAZZZINGG!), and it makes my skin look flawless even when it's extremely broken out - and even in natural light which was my biggest problem with my old makeups.

Everyone will have a different reaction to different makeup brands and formulations. You still might need to do trial and error. Ask for samples first so you can test how your skin reacts before spending the money. Right now, I'm using MAKE UP FOREVER HD Liquid Foundation and I'm loving it!

I struggled with acne for more than 15 years until I discovered the Regimen here on Acne.org. I am on month 4 of the regimen and my skin is much better so I don't need much makeup on a daily basis - just undereye concealer and a little bit of spot concealing on some hyper pigmentation from old blemishes. I bought the MUFE HD foundation because I host a local tv show and so need something to even out the skin tone. I only use a thin layer and only use once or twice a week for on-camera work. So far, no problems with it. Coverage is good enough, feels very lightweight, and no breakouts. It seems to work well with the regimen.

Unfortunately the Trial and Error has begun with Errors. Second day with La Roche posey Mousse foundation and my Face is reddish all Over and pimples start to form.

Feels like the whole acne nightmare starting again. :(( Why, why did Dermalogica have to Take off the market a successful Produkt?

Next I will Try loreal since I used to tolerate it.

The MUFE foundation also intrigued me. The question is only how Do I get it in Germany.

Anyway thank you again for Sharing what Works for you!!!

P.S. The Skin 79 BB Cream also has some great Reviews on makeupvalley for acne- prone Skin! Thanks!!!

Lycogel Breathable camouflage foundation is fantastic, especially if you need to conceal any flaws. It isn't cakey or heavy and is gel based, so lets your skin breathe. I have used this for years to cover a multitude of sins. It's best to moisturise your skin first and although it can be worn alone, I find it lasts a lot better with a fine dusting of powder. It's very expensive, but worth it.

Here is the product description from Amazon -

Lycogel Breathable Camouflage Foundation is a unique healing, breathable foundation suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Skin specialists and beauty therapists use Lycogel Breathable Camouflage, because it is the only foundation that has the ability to promote the healing of damaged or postprocedural skin and is suited for immediate use after cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, laser resurfacing, plastic surgery or dermabrasion. But Lycogel Breathable Camouflage isnt only for those with special makeup needs: it's for everyday use improving the quality and texture of the skin. Even for those who are unable to wear traditional make-up, Lycogel offers a soothing and non-irritating relief while leaving the skin looking flawless. Because of Lycogels LYCO-Complex breakthrough technology, you can now safely apply a camouflage makeup directly onto post-cosmetic surgery scars, burns, wounds, or onto a flare up of skin conditions such as acne, rosacea or eczema for perfect flawless skin. In the USA, Lycogel is widely used and recommended by dermatologists and plastic surgeons to not only immediately cover, but help to cool and soothe the skin, heal redness, bruising, and scars and reduce their patients downtime.

Low cost option: PF Organic Wear

Moderate cost option: Ecco Bella Flower Color

High end option: Bareskin Pure Liquid

They all work for me, Bareskin is the best but also the most expensive.

I use Garnier Oil Free BB Cream and its been good. I need to mix two shades and a little bit of concealer on top of that, but at least it doesnt break me out. And i put a cream under it.

I really love my Tarte Tinted Moisturizer. The Amazonian Clay foundation is really nice too, but a bit too drying for me atm, since I'm back on Accutane. I also loved Missha Signature Real Complete BB cream, but their colour range is lacking. None of those has broken me out but I especially like the Tarte Tinted Moisturizer, it doesn't make me look flaky with my dry skin.

The only foundation that lasts me the day and does not cause excessive breakouts even on my highly allergic skin (so far--knock on wood) is Revlon Colorstay. I have to buy one shade up from my usual (so if you are usually the second darkest foundation in a given line, buy the third darkest instead). I also mix it with their Age Defying for oily skin to make it less drying, but it's hit or miss for me lately. (The Age Defying has a much, much nicer texture, though.)

I have horribly acne-prone skin with big pores and it has become so sensitive I now know I must steer clear of anything with "acne helping ingredients" like lactic acid, salicylic acid (worst breakout of my life from Almay Clearing), etc. I'm oily. I will never be in love with a foundation but on a drugsture budget it's pretty could.

I would go with Covergirl Clean Foundation next.

I use Triderma Antiredness nongreasy moisturizer as primer, let it set, then dab on/spread with a cosmetic sponge, then use CG Smoothers concealer on the bigger pimples. It isn't perfect, but it's the best I can do without breaking out terriby.

I would get well acquainted with a comedogenic ingredients list. I also am afraid of mineral foundation because so many of them have bismuth oxychloride and sit in pores.

Thanks to everybody who posted on this thread!

There were many interesting suggestions for good foundations, that I definately will try out to find the foundation with perfect coverage. For now I started using Cover Tint - the new one by Dermalogica and I am so relieved that my skin does not break out immediately afterwards. I don't like the coverage though and the colour does not match my skintone perfectly, so I will have to continue to look for the perfect foundation for me. But now more relaxed since I don't have to go out without any coverage for my scarred skin.

Anyway, once again thank you all for the input!!

Just wanted ti share. I have finally found my holy grail product line- Jane Iredale. I must say I was very skeptical at first, having bad experience with her liquid minerals foundation, but in my Desperation for a good foundation i decided to give it a try.

My review a month later: the Dream Tint in Combination with the Pressed Powder Mineral Foundation are fantastic! Great coverage, longlasting, good colours, light feeling on the skin, nourishing, and most importantly no, really no breakouts!

Love double wear light, still great coverage! I mix it in with Charlotte Tilbury Wonder glow for more of a soft focus finish, really tempted to treat myself to the new NARS all day luminous foundation, it's just out in the UK and always heard great things about NARS, I love their creamy concealer.

I have to agree with her, Clinique does indeed have foundations that works great for sensitive skin. I use Clinique mineral powder. It's a bit yellowish but it blends well to those with lighter skin tone and it never broke me out.

I have always the good coverage that Revlon Colorstay gives me. And with the formula specifically designed for oily skin, it really helps me out on my shiny face department.

On the pricier side, Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide has been treating my skin right. I'd say about medium coverage and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. For my great skin days, I use their Oil-free Tinted Moisturizer. It is sheer, lightweight and your skin can breathe through. It basically just takes care of a bit of redness.

My favorite foundation for the past several years is Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF 15. If you find a consultant near you, they should have samples for you to find the right shade. After that, you have the option of sticking with your consultant or (sshhh) purchasing on Amazon or Ebay. Arbonne uses really pure ingredients and they don't test on animals. I apply it with a sponge and get great coverage with a breathable lightweight feel. I do not wear a lot though.

When the BP from the Regimen makes me dry, I add a little moisturizer to the foundation on my hand and then apply with sponge. If need to touch-up later, I dab my face with water on a damp sponge and apply a little more foundation, but only on those really flaky days.
