I just wanted to share my progress. I have had co2 abletive laser done on my chest and shoulders. I wanted to share this because there is little information on possible acne body scars treatment.
Before the procedure I had no red skin, and about 190 white scars on my chest and shoulders. Some more visible then others.
(no keloid) I will post before and after pictures when it's healed so in about one month.
The laserspecialist has planned for two rounds of laser, the first to see what the reaction of my skin is and the second (+ 3 months )to finish it off and probably more deep. In one month I am going for a checkup to see the results at that moment.
First of I want to say that the price is really good, 500 euro (hospital price in the Netherlands). I have had no numbing cream so it was a painfull burning sensation during the procedure. I didn't really care about the pain and think it is well worth it.
So here are the picture's attached from two days after. My only concern is when / if it's going to start flaking. The redness is from the laser, the burn is on the same level as the surrounding skin.
In 6 months I am booked for Recell treatment on my face, I have a lot of light facial scarring and a few deep ones. I'll post the results and keep in touch. Good luck to all sufferers.
Update:
6 days after co2 ablative laser. Still look like a mosaic work. A lot of dry skin and flaking. Some lighter treated skin has already started peeling of. I can already see improvement in the treated skin.I would say at least 50-60%. Some small white scars are already gone an overal better texture. The most is still brown scabbing or still reddish scabbing.
However there is some hyperpigmentation (very light pinkish-brown skin) at the new skin. Does anyone know a good product to treat hyperpigmentation after co2? Could I use vitamine-E?
I will post some pictures after the old scabs are off. I would say two or more days from now.
I am usig aloe vera 100%. Made a mistake in the shower and washed of the old skin on my chest, it; s almost the seventh day. Maybe I should have waited til it came off by itself. The waiting and all the redness is starting to frustrate me, would have expected to easly peel by now, i am healing very slow.
The more glad I am I didn't go for this procedure on my face, now I know what to expect.
The laser specialist made before pictures. In 3 weeks I have a check up appointment, i'll ask before and after when it's healed.
Update I can see that small scars are fading. They where deep and old, al scars are brought to the surface of my skin. I can see co2 is working, although it is not an alround solution. The skin is still pinkish.
In 3 months I'll probably go for a final treatment to finish it off to a deeper level of the scar. I expect at least 50-70% better.
