To Breakfast Or Not...

Recommended Posts

I don't mean a greasy sausage and processed cereal diet- I mean good "cereals"/protein and vegetables.

I ask because I like to spread my supplements out throughout the day, and some of them are obviously fat soluble or more bioavailable when taken with food. Never in my life have I been a breakfast person- I eat when I'm hungry, usually in the late afternoon, and only eat til I'm full.

There are a lot of posts on this forum about skipping breakfast, but this small piece says to keep your blood sugar balanced, there should be a healthy breakfast consumed (gives two reciples)

Intermittent fasting has some great benefits including improving your glucose metabolism and also reduces hyperproliferation of cells. Details:

Some people do it by skipping or delaying breakfast. And if you are going to do that a good thing to do is have a fat source as alternate form of energy. Which is why this thing now often called paleo coffee was invented. You just add a teaspoon or tablespoon of coconut oil to you coffee. Or as I do, cocoa.

Also, it isn't good to eat carbs too soon after waking as your cortisol is elevated as part of waking up and this decreases insulin sensitivity. Do some chores or exercise first.

My TCM doc asked me what I had for breakfast today, I said "1/2 my daily magnesium, GABA and lyposomal vitamin C."

All week I had been having green drink, brown rice powder and my Vitamin D, fish oil, St. John's Wort, and CoQ10, when I had time.

She stressed the importance of eating breakfast for my mental and cardiovascular health, my heart chi and kidney chi, which are tied up in my skin issues. She said blood sugar has to be balanced- protein, carbs, and good fats, so I added a spoonful of coconut oil to my breakfast shake.

I may start waking up a half hour earlier to take the water-solubles. I'll update if the addition of breakfast over time has any detrimental effects to my skin when I'm done with the TCM herbs.

Perhaps the breakfast thing is very much case by case dependent on the type of acne and the individual's metabolism...
