Chemical Peels To Address Pih (Dark Spots) From Past Bacne

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has tried using a chemical peel on dark spots left by past back acne.

My spots have faded a lot, though there are some near my shoulders I'd like to clear up faster.

I have been using a 30% glycolic acid peel for my face and its been working wonders, but I assume I need something stronger for my body.

how do you apply it? You just spot treat the scars with undiluted glycolic acid? From where did you buy yours?
Usually the skin on your back is tougher than the one on your face, so you should give 40% a try, and later a 50%, but you HAVE to build yourself up to that level, because it's really high and you dont want to burn yourself.

I've yet to apply anything to my shoulders/upper back area (the problem area for my PIH).

I have "Glycolic Acid 30% Gel Peel - Enhanced with Retinol and Green Tea Extract (Professional Chemical Peel)"

I cover my entire face with it. I bought it from amazon.

I'm reading conflicting reviews on amazon between the glycolic and lactic acid peels, which is why I'm confused.

tca is much stronger than glycolic, so 30% of tca is not the same as 30% of glycolic, but you can always dilute it (with water).

Thanks guys, I tried the 30% glycolic on my shoulders and felt no tingling at all and didn't really notice any lightening, just very smooth skin :P

I'll give a TCA peel a shot next week.
