scar looks deeper after TCA cross scab fell off

Recommended Posts

The scar tissue appears deeper than the previous icepick scar when the TCA cross scab fell off. It has been two days since the scab fell off, it looks deep, is this normal? I have been putting Neosporin on it.

Several people on the board have reported that once their scab(s) fell off the scar appeared to be deeper/larger than it was before. Try to be careful of the scabs so that they don't fall off easily, and Neosporin is a good idea. It will take 2-3 months before you'll see the final result.

Just as an FYI, the TCA Cross report says that you should NOT apply Neosporin after the scab has formed, only UNTIL the scab has formed

From the report:

After CROSS, an ointment based antibiotic instead of an occlusive dressing was applied for moisturizing effect, but this application was discontinued after crust formation in order to avoid the risk of detaching the crust.

TCA Cross is supposed to be done using very strong TCA in a series of treatments. It was never meant to be done once.

Perhaps your eye is tricked because they are actually wider and maybe still red. I can't answer your question, but the study on TCA Cross had a chart that showed good improvements after at least 3 sessions, going up in improvement to 6 sessions.
