Hello everyone,

I'm finishing my accutane course in a week. I have no acne, and my face feels smoothly. BUT; I still have a lot red marks and I don't know if I have any scars, maybe you could find out? And how do you think I should treat my red marks?? Should I just wait and see if they'll go away after finishing accutane? I have heard lots of people which red marks faded after taking accutane.. Any experiences?

Here's some photos of my skin (Looks a lot better on pictures!!!) I have a lot more redness.. Acutally my skin looks very good at these pictures, lol.. ---

Hi there,

You mostly just have red marks. I'd just wait a couple of months to be honest. They fade away a lot quicker once you get off accutane. It's hard to tell if you have any scarring though. I think you may have a small bit on your right cheek but that's about it.

You could try some AHA creams - they really help with fading hyperpigmentation. You could also try some chemical peels but they might be a little harsh since I've heard Accutane makes skin more sensitive?

You could always just wait it out if you don't wanna introduce anything new to irritate your skin. Hyperpigmentation seems to fade in Caucasians faster (I have Asian skin). One of my roommates went on Accutane and she's Caucasian. Just about a few months later they were all practically faded. Meanwhile I still have a face-full of marks, I've been using AHA creams for a few months and some of these marks have been around for almost a year. -_-

I envy you just got redmarks. Anyway, congrats for your acne treatment! I have done several microdermabrasion and it was good to fade the marks quicker than it should be. Good luck!

Thanks a lot, now they just need to fade! :D Did you do the microdermabrasion yourself? If yes; where did you buy your kit??

Post the pics up in a bright light or preferably in the sun and I can tell you if you've scars and/or red marks

You have rolling scars, but they are quite shallow from what i can tell. Once the red marks clear up they might not even bother you anymore. :)

Nope. A doctor had it done. I don't think you can do it yourself without good preparation. They cleaned my face first, dermabrased it then put some serum on it, steam my face and did a facial to remove blackheads and pimples, then my face brighthen soon after the procedure has finished.
