Is "fractional Co2" A Specific Laser Or A Broad Term Covering Multiple Lasers?

Recommended Posts

I'm just looking at different derm's websites and at the different types of lasers they offer, and one derm's site (that I'm particularly interested in) says they offer "Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser (confluent and fractionated)." I'm just wondering, is fractional CO2 just a broad term for multiple lasers? Or is fractional CO2 a specific type of laser?

For example, would Fraxel Restore/Fraxel repair (I realize these are two very different lasers) both be considered fractional CO2 lasers?
