So I'm on day 15 of 40mg of accutane. I started taking accutane for my back acne. My scalp before accutane was normal, but I would get a few pimples on my neck sometimes. Right now my scalp looks like crap. Is this a initial breakout or something more serious. If something less serious what shampoos/conditioners/vitamins should I be using. I posted a picture for reference. Also, I got a haircut a week ago and that really seem to aggravate it.

Hey saw that you were looking for some help on this thread. I'll try to as best I can. It looks to me that your scalp is pretty dry, a normal side effect of the tane. I have it myself, and I've found that the best way to combat it is to use a good shampoo/conditioner (one for dry scalp/dandruff). I use Head and Shoulders - you can pick it up at Walmart/Walgreens/CVS/Rite Aid/etc. http://www.amazon.com/Head-Shoulders-Clinical-Strength-packaging/dp/B0043OSIVM

Your scalp and neck are most likely just dry (like the rest of your body). I'm not a doctor, but there's a chance it might be some eczema that some people get on accutane. I'd start with the Head and Shoulders and see how that treats it (it should definitely help at least a little). If it doesn't get better and it's still bothering you, I'd talk to your doc and see what they have to say.
