Manuka Honey?

I'm thinking of purchasing some - it's £22.00 (I'm from the UK) which seems a lot for a 250g pot, however I've heard great things.

My acne is moderate I suppose and I'm currently experiencing quite a bad break out. I believe it's hormonal as when I went on the pill two years ago, it cleared up completely. It turned me into a very angry and emotional person though so wasn't very good for my all round well being.

Has anyone had any experience with Manuka? Do I just dab it on the spots? I don't really want to do a mask straight away. And do I also eat it?

The brand I'm thinking of getting is on Amazon and is called "Steens Wellbeing 20+ active". I assume the 20+ is the strength?

2 photos attached of my current skin issue (with make up on!) I use oil free foundation - just about to go to work so can't get away with not using any.

Thanks guys!

I used Manuka honey about a year ago for a number of months. It made my skin really nice and soft (I used it as a mask every few days) but I didn't notice any real changes / improvement with my acne unfortunately. So I don't use it anymore, but I would use it again just because I liked how it made the overall feel of my skin. You can use it as a spot treatment if you'd like. I used to also add in cinnamon if I was going to use it as a spot treatment - I had slightly better success with the cinnamon plus the honey for a spot treatment (but if I used it as a mask then, it just caused irritation). People also use it as a cleanser but I've never tried that so can't comment on it.

The 20+ is the UMF (unique manuka factor) rating which relates to the 'strength' of the anti-bacterial properties of the manuka honey, as far as I know. And from memory, I think it's suggested to use 15+ or higher when using it for acne.

Good luck if you do decide to try it! Hopefully it works well for your acne.

Thanks for the reply.

I've ordered some so I'll see how I go...other benzoyl peroxide on the spot treatment might be better.

I use that with ground cinnamon. I either use is as a spot treatment or all over mask. I think it works well when you spot treat and leave it on overnight.
