Hello all,

I would love some advice on how I could improve my scars and skin colouring. Open to try anything! I haven't had any treatments done in 5 years after going through a horrendous laser treatment which cost me thousands. I have also had roller treatments and dermabrasion and fillers pervious to the laser. I am sure that with all of those y scars have improved over time (8 years since my acne stopped) but I dont have pictures of my skin that far back.

Anywho, if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve my skin I would love to hear them!

Thanks in advance

:)

I think needling (Dermaroller) would do the trick for your mild rolling scars..

Youve had lasers, rollers and fillers so far, any improvement from them?

They are quite mild if i may say so, so please dont worry too much.

What laser treatment did you try?

i like coz fractional. It worked on mine (on forehead) but as already said you could try a professional dermaroller again?

Its best to see a professional rather than try things yourself, but seeing you had a bad experience which was expensive i understand if you are hesitant to try lasers again. In my experience they worked

If you want to wait a year or two to have perfect skin (your potential for perfect skin is awesome) and can't take significant down time, go with rolling. You have to research the shit out of it. The right needle size, and the correct pre and post treatment. If you don't want to put the research into finding what works, don't even try it. It will, most certainly, be a waste of time if the exact, proper conditions are not met.

Or if you want it all done and fixed over shorter period of time, but with significant down time after treatments, go subcision. Subcision would mop the floor with what you have. Problem is what you have (minor) exists over a very large area - i.e. cheeks and neck. So A. it will be more expensive and B. more treatments will need to be done.

If I were you, number one I would start weeping because I would know for an absolute certainty that at most I only have to wait 2 years for a totally clear, perfect, scar-free face. And second I would do subcision, because I'm an impatient son of a bitch and I could give a damn about the down time (I'd just do it during uni breaks). You might be different though.

I think subcision first and then skin needling, and retin a 3-5x a week.

Never heard a single good thing about retin A. Please post evidence of it actually helping someone.

Oh look:

Just pulled those out of my ass. All threads I've read. Look into the experiences of other, real patients that were just like you. That's the way to do it.

Some retin a threads (confirming what I've said, for the most part):

Summary of all three of the above? Waste of time, and risk of bringing back the dreaded A-word.

Questions? Didn't think so. Take what everyone says with a grain of salt unless they've got shit to back it up. I'll give you a pro tip: people who give you one-sentence answers to your problems are 99% of the time wrong, or partially wrong.

Retin A for discoloration, hyper pigmentation and sun damage; cell turnover (using it when dermarolling) according to studies and https://www.google.com/search?q=subcision+cost&oq=subcision+cost&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.5665j0j8&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=retin+a+cell+turnover

Retin-A pretreatment is the standard protocol for prepping skin before any resurfacing procedures. It's also been proven to be the only topical that improves discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles. As for scarring, it's not gonna do much, but does certainly improve the tone and clarity of your skin.

Wow!! thankyou all for your responses!!! I will research the derma rolling some more.

Bonsai, if I had a picture of my scars close up before I started all of the treatments I may be able to answer that, my pigmentation is worse I think. I guess when you look at your scars everyday you dont notice a difference unless it is quite significant. After my laser I saw no change. The dr did three different types of laser on me in the one session, it was very very intense. I could smell my skin burning and started vomiting and then vomited 24 hours straight! I cannot remember what they were though sorry.

Anyone got any recommendations for pigmentation/freckles?
