I'm Floored By These Results

I've been following this guy on Realself.com since he first wrote about his experience, but damn, this is one of the most amazing transformations I've seen. He's 2 months out from his procedure, so perhaps there is still some swelling, but even if the results diminish even more, this is still stunning.

The photos seem consistent (taken in the same bathroom lighting).

Impressive alright. The doctor who treated him seems to be an acne scar specialist and has developed his own protocols around treating them. Has any one else used him?

I do wonder how much of the improvement is due to the fillers though. I'd like to see this guy when the fillers wear off.

Well this dude did it all, including fillers. If anything, he certainly went in guns blazing and came out with great resutls. I totally agree, if you add up all the crap we spend money on on a daily basis, it would probably be more than a few syringes of filler. Life is maintenance, so why should your looks and your face be shortchanged? This was totally worth it for this guy.

I still don't want to get too excited, but a decent amount of time has passed since his procedures, so this isn't all swelling. Amazing that this was achieved on someone with this magnitude of scarring.

It will be interesting how his skin changes over time. I'm definitely keeping up with his review. I wouldn't say this doctor has developed anything that new or innovative. He's using techniques that everyone knows about (subcision, fraxel repair, fillers), but the results are amazing (so far). There are a few doctors that employ this combination of techniques, but the results here might be what differentiates him from the others. I know this doctor has been brought up before briefly. It would be interesting to see him months from now when the fillers wear off. I doubt he'd let it go back to baseline though if he can keep looking like this by continually touching up on it.

Yeah I did see that one, although she did it recently, so it's definitely swelling from the subcision and fat grafting. But it's also a promising look result.

Yeah, I gotta hand it to this guy. He did his research and picked a good doctor the first time and came out with good results. So many people make a lot mistakes and waste money along the way, and then even come out looking worse.

this guy had great results. I am a little skeptical though just because I have done treatments like him. I think since he is 2 mos post op that the swelling should have gone away by now. I believe that takes it out of the equation. I would also rule our the fillers effectiveness because fillers are not good for scars. I think the lighting is definitely different in the later ones. Regardless, he has the most impressive results I have seen. I am skeptical that there isn't more to the story because I have done variations of his treatment, but I have taken triple the amount of treatments in order to get results. I would think he would have needed at the minimum several years of treatments to get those results or maybe added in a fat transfer procedure. Perhaps some of the after pictures are taken right in the morning when he is waking up and collagen is highest due to REM sleep and HGH production. Hopefully I am just wrong! lol. This guy could attract a lot of customers for this doctor!

I am assuming fraxel repair is what had the biggest impact, which most people with his skin wouldn't likely do.

Also, I think it is easier to treat extreme scarring than it is the moderate and mild cases, Resurfacing a giant area to something moderate makes a difference, but if you already started with moderate scars you are unlikely to see much of a difference.

perhaps that is the truth. Maybe this guy found a good filler. Amazing results none the less.

You guys need to look at the very last set of pictures taken in the same bathroom lighting as the before shots. These pictures shows where he is right now, and they are indeed impressive.

In his particular case, he did Fotona Erbium laser, not Fraxel Repair. I think his doctor chose this laser specifically because he has a darker skin tone. For him, I think he wrote that the most effective part of his series of treatments was the extensive subcision.

Look at the video on this doctors website (not gonna post here). The subcision he performs is very intense. They literally filled the entire face (the face looks like a balloon) with tumescent anesthesia and do aggressive subcision. Then they follow up with Fraxel Repair.

Fillers do work....for the RIGHT scars in the hands of a doctor with good technique. I believe his scars were mostly of the rolling type, and so with extensive subcision, he freed up all the scarbands which allowed the fillers to be effective. They do not work for boxscars or icepicks, that is true. It's not accurate to say they NEVER work because technique, and choosing the right scar, makes all the difference. That has been my personal experience.

It doesn't matter if one has done the same kinds of treatments and haven't gotten nearly the same results. There is no inherent magic in a syringe of filler or a laser, it's the skill of the doctor that is the deciding critical factor.

I wish this person partitioned his photos as being before/after each procedure, not just a general string of pics after all of the procedures. I'm sure some of them, such as the fraxel, probably did next to nothing, while others (subcision/fillers) made all of the improvement really happen.

I really have to say though I absolutely hate the idea of fillers, since it is only a temporary fix. Subcision/excision are the way to go.
