Dermatology: Doctor with MD title vs PA-C?

Recommended Posts

What's the difference between doctor with MD title vs PA-C? What does PA-C stand for? I'm having an emergency cortisone shot tomorrow for a few big cysts. I can't get an appointment with my regular MD derm and have to find someone in the same office with the PA-C title. Does it mean PA-C is lesser qualified derm and may not be best to ask for advice on acne medication?

I've had nurses give me cortisone injections and had the same results as if the doctor himself had performed it. Don't worry about it. Most nurses are qualified to give subcutaneous injections.
