Hello all,

im a 16yo male, i started on accutane 20mg/day in march, and now i have 3 weeks left in my course. i havnt got any pimples for about a month now, but i have heaps of red marks on both cheeks, but they are completely flat and non painful, they have been there for about 2 months now. WHAT SHOULD I DOO! sad.png . it looks like my cheeks have pimples when there is nothing, takes the joy out of life.. it really affects my confidence, i just want to sit inside all the time

what can i do about the red markss?? i shower twice a day and use cetaphil gentle cleanser twice. will the marks fade when im off accutane? is there anything i can do to make them go away, like foods that help? products ANYTHING! i REALLY want them to go away.

and does junk food make red marks worse or anything?

here are some pics:

I finished Accutane 3 weeks ago and I have a few red marks too, I believe it's called post-inflammation hyper pigmentation

To be honest, the best thing for them is time. But, I understand how frustrating they are to have the acne gone but still be stuck with marks.

I used Bio Oil throughout my treatment and I think it's helped, I'd try that if I were you :)

I have a lot more severe hyperpigment then you, but the best thing to do is wear a sensitive, non comdonal sunscreen. The sun will make your marks redder, after around 5 weeks of sunscreen mine have defiantly become a lot lighter

I've tried Emu Oil too, they're quite similar but Bio Oil is less greasy/shiny and I find it's less heavy on your skin.

To my knowledge, diet has no effect on PIH :)

As far as I know, there's not much more you can easily do except wait. TIME is the best thing for healing PIH, as much as it sucks your PIH will go away with time. :)
