So I'm completely clear of acne now for about 4 weeks now, so now my main focus is on the marks left behind. The problem though is that I don't know if they are actual scars or if they are just red marks. From far away they look indented, but close up my skin looks completely smooth. Is this just an illusion caused by the color of the mark, or is it classified as a pitted scar? I guess what I'm asking is whether or not pitted scars are actually and physically pitted and indented on your face or is it called that just by how it looks even though they are not physically indented? Please help... eusa_think.gif

Hi, pitted scars are actually scars that are pits. You would know one if you saw it on your face. idea.gif Turn off the lights and shine a flashlight on them at an angle. If you don't scream, you probably have good skin.
