Hm, here's what I would do:

1. Chemical peel, one of the deeper ones. You can do multiple peels over the course of several months.

2. After your last peel, begin using a retinoid. Consult the derm on this one. You'll need to wait several days after the peel to start using it so your skin doesn't burn.

3. Salicylic acid wash. This you can start immediately (but you'll probably have to stop a few days before and after each peel).

4. Dietary modifications. Paleo works for a lot of people. I would try it immediately if you're serious about this. You can even throw in some green smoothies.

Best of luck to you.

BB9 dont cry! I know its a tough process....but at least there are so many people here that feel your pain! I'm not sure what you've tried so far. Dermatologist?

Hah sorry I didn't mean anything by that. I know how it feels, lol. I'm looking at my skin right now and it looks fine. I know if I move to the bathroom with its nasty fluorescent lighting and huge mirror, I'll cringe. Not from the light, from the image in the mirror! But hey, people aren't looking at your skin under a microscope, or through a filtered camera lens...or on photoshop.

Maybe try leaving photoshop and all that alone for a while. Even you said it makes your skin look worse than what it really is. So that means no one who meets you in person is seeing your skin like that! :)

I would never have said Katy Perry was 'ugly' but the editing of her pic in photoshop makes her look that and scary! (Really - I got a fright when I scrolled down - thanks for that :P )

I know it's hard. We can all relate. Hang in there! comfort.gif

Woah, that Katy Perry picture is kinda scary. Proves that we'd all look a lot worse in certain lighting and if our photos were edited in Photoshop. You're not alone.
