So I have a question concerning tretinoin gel strengths.

I have mild to moderate acne and was prescribed tretinoin cream 0.025% towards the end of May. I of course experienced a horrible initial breakout and it made my skin really oily.

After a month, I asked my doctor to instead put me on tretinoin gel 0.01% to reduce all the oiliness. By using the gel form I was a lot less oily, but I had to go through another initial breakout.

Thankfully, from being on it now for 2 1/2 months, I have seen some improvement, but was curious to know if I would get better results with tretinoin gel 0.025%. My skin seems to be handling the 0.01% well with little to no side effects.

I also wanted to know if my skin will breakout again by increasing the strength?

If anyone has had experience with increasing tretinoin gel strength, I would really love to hear how that eventually worked for you and if your skin initially broke out again.
