Hi, are these rolling scars? They were hard to capture but in daylight I think they are worse, I tried to get them under the bright light. Got some up close. I do have some active acne still which had been going down with BP, this also explains the dry patches. I also ave very enlarged pores so not sure some of the scarring is enlarged pores?

The scar under my eye is from an accident, this doesn't bother me at all.

I should mention I have tried microdermabrasion (so many I can't count), glycolic peels and Fraxel laser. Next I will be trying dermapen or dermaroller, do you think these will help with the texture?

Hello lovely!

I see shallow rolling and boxcar scarring, plus you look a little dry...? BP tends to dry the skin out (personally I hate BP and wouldn't recommend it to anyone) so a moisturiser is essential to combat this. In place of BP I would recommend using a Retin-A; one million times better for your skin and scarring.

Microdermabrasion, no matter how many you have, will not help scarring. It is too superficial a treatment and is purely to remove the dead skin cells. It doesn't reach the depths needed to break down scar tissue. Glycolic peels may help, but you'd need a super strength one (done in a doctor's clinic) and more than one. Plus the risks outweigh the benefits. Fraxel... I feel your pain there. I had no luck with the Re:Store and will personally never go back to lasers.

The Dermaroller and/or eDermastamp have been my life savers! I love the treatments, the downtime is minimal (3 days tops), the side effects are hardly anything (mild redness, a little swelling)... the results? Wow! It's taking time but I started my skin needling journey just over a year ago now and have seen an improvement of over 70%. I had my first eDermastamp treatment two days ago and was back at work today as though I had nothing done. :)

Yes my skin is very very dry from BP, it's probably making scars and wrinkles show up more. I am desperate to clear my acne to commence scar treatment so am going down the BP road. I have taken many antibiotics, accutane etc. and it always comes back. I am currently trying to find the root of the problem but thought I would use BP as I have to try something for now. I have used Retin A before and it didn't help.

Thanks for you help and advice. I have been following your progress with the roller and stamp.

The thing about BP is that yes, it keeps the spots at bay and does this quickly but deep down it isn't getting to the root of the problem. Retin-A penetrates deeper into the dermis and helps to repair damage and build collagen, but takes a good three months of solid use to really see the benefits. 😉 So maybe give it a second thought?

If not, then find something to combat the dryness without making your skin oily. 🙂

Don't give up though, your scarring is not severe so I think you're on the right track. Treat your active acne first and then tackle those scars. xx
