Red Marks... Help... Please...

So I've been using a cream called Demelan for at least over a month now which contains ~10% Glycolic acid, ~2% Arbutin and ~5% Kojic Acid (If I'm not wrong)...

I'm wondering if anyone has used it before and what are their feedback on the results etc.

I'm so lost... Please help... Pimples have made me so terribly depressed....

Slightly raised circular and vein-like bumps on my cheeks along with the occasional new ones are filled with some pus... And they give a wide area a sort of bright pink, rough patch look.... If anyone knows what to do with such 'red marks'... Please please please help....

I beg of you

Relax.

Looks like your using an exfolation cream of some kind...

I'm not sure wether you still have acne or not , if you do , stop using this cream ,first thing you gotta do is cleanse twice a day, then use your treatment(BP/Adapalene) witch ever you chose start slowly . And the last step should be moisturizing. If you've tried this without succes and your acne is giving you a hard time , I would recommend accutane.

If you don't have acne and the red marks are giving you a hard time forgot about the BP(it's slowing the healing) you can use Adapalene(Differin/Retin-A) for maintainace. You still have to cleanse and moisturize twice daily, you might acctually wanna add a better exfoliator, something rageing from 8-12% glycolic acid(AHA).

If you tried all this and failed(I doubt that though red marks take time to fade) look into V-beam laser or chiemical peels.

Bye bye

How would you go about that, if I may ask? :'<

Uhm... What does 'having acne or not' really refer to? Well... there's the monthly hormonal cycle and all...? So... the occasional pimples? (But thank God for occasional and under control) Yes I do cleanse twice a day, use BP on active acne and moisturize afterwards.

Probably a silly question but I gotta ask anyway, is it necessary for the skin to somewhat literally shed when using BP/AHA to actually be able to tell whether the products have an effect...? I've recently begun using retin-A.... Does it help in fading red marks as I've been told and read??? It's actually quite difficult to get glycolic acid based products off the shelves where I am T_T Whatmore... being able to browse AHA content percentages... Please, I would like to know cream-based, face-wash, face-mask (wash off/peel off) or moisturizer form of AHA works best?

You need L-Ascorbic acid powder (which I get from amazon), distilled water and glycerin (or propylene glycol if you're sensitive to glycerin based products).

I keep it in the fridge in a dark glass bottle with a pipette and apply it morning and night under my moisturiser.

I use a 20% concentration which is very effective but it is the highest concentration that should be used, and you should always start at about 10% and slowly build it up because it can be too harsh at first.

For a 10% solution you need:

1/8 tsp Vitamin C Powder

1/4 tsp Glycerin

3/4 tsp Distilled water.

for 20% you'd want to use 1/4 tsp Vitamin C Powder :)

It's been great! It's honestly faded my hyperpigmentation by about 80% however I still have a couple of scars left from my accutane IB :(

Other than that, it has made my previously dull face look alive and awake! Makes my skin so firm and bright rather than grey and uneven :)

I recommend the acne.org AHA . Nothing else fades my marks besides this stuff and it works quickly! It's inexpensive and quick! 2 pluses! Not only does it fa the Hyperpigmentaion but it evens out your skin tones and brings back the youthful glow in your skin! Something I thought I would never have back. My marks are 85% gone since I started using it about 2 months ago. Just amazing stuff!

I've tried retin a and Hydroquinone together which is supposed to be the gold standard for fading Hyperpigmentaion and I used it for 6 months with little to no results. I figured I give the aha a shot because I saw raving reviews of it for fading marks. I figured it wouldn't work since the gold standard failed me but I was willing to try on last thing and I was shocked it was working and I could tell within a week it was working its magic. 16 bucks off this website

No you can't it would be to harsh on the skin as it is a acid. You can start with it the day your off though. Until time I would recommend lemon juice unless that burns too. Unfortunatly on accutane you have to wait till it is over before fading anything away. I remember I couldn't wait!

Really? It's that good? :o But why would it be better than any other generic Glycolic Acid lotion though, out of curiosity? Can it fade all PIH marks even if they've been there for years and are kinda bumpy like vein-cracks (containing a little pus if squeezed as though they were pimples that couldn't heal completely)???

Within 1 week, and such great results? :o Wow... (Uhm, no offense but I hope what you're stating here is off pure personal experience not due to some other reasons and such ^^" B'coz you know... It's so disappointing to hear all sorts of feedback for all different sort of things and having to spend tons of money only to end up more depressed than ever...)

Oh and wondering, can acne.org's AHA also fade pigmented patch of skin due to contact eczema? (for example, darkened areas of skin due to allergy to toothpaste???)

Thank you so much!

I would love to try that if only it were a lil easier to obtain all the materials needed :< I'm happy to hear that it works wonders for you though! Will definitely KIV ^^

Well dans product is PH balanced and contains lovely ingredients such as lichochalcone which is a licorice root extract which calms your skin and evens out the complexion and gives you that glow back that acne stole from all of us! Instead of just straight glycolic peels dans is almost a gel like consistency but runnier than gel. It applies wonderfully and smooth. It's gentle and effective enough that you can use it daily and not suffer from horrible peeling skin like those peels with give you. And the fact that it is oh balanced helps to keep your skin in a healthier state.

As far as why dans aha is so awesome! I don't know, so many of the reviews in the review topic all claim then tried aha from Paula's choice or from somewhere else, or glycolic peels. But this is more effective. So I'm not sure why but it really is a great product. It's changed my face from never leaving the house with my face put on to going to work with no makeup on. My guess is in another 2 months you won't even know I ever had acne. No lies. I'm not trying to sell the product for Dan or anything. I just brag about it because it's great and I love love love it. Just like my CeraVe products, I should be a CeraVe rep I swear!

Hmm... Overall, reviews from many others have been pretty positive but there're some who also state otherwise? That it stings and burns and causes red marks to last longer/whiteheads pop up? :'< What are the chances of that happening???? Oh gosh... I'm just really worried,,, I mean, sure it's 16USD but after adding on the international shipping fee, I almost fainted. T_____T Isn't there a cheaper alternative to get it...?

I see~ Thank you for the useful info. I've always wondered if pro glycolic peels give the same effect. I'm just so so so worried because the Demelan cream which I've spent quite the dollar on supposedly has about 10% Glycolic Acid too but it doesn't seem to work very well.....

Haha~ I'm so happy for you! I just hope I can somehow obtain nice complexion back again too. I'd love to give it a try but the total fee after incl. shipping fee is just..... *sigh* These products will always be available right...? They won't ever cancel production? :'O T___T I surely hope not.

The products will always be available yes. They are also for sale on amazon. Maybe shipping charges aren't crazy expensive through there.

I haven't used Dan's AHA but I'm on accutane and I use an AHA toner twice a day, hyaluronic acid serum and vitamin C serum which are all acids and only give my skin a slight tingle at the worst :D I'm not saying it's the same for everyone, but most of the things people said I wouldn't be able to use on accutane, I can :)

Btw vitamin C serum ingredients can be found even in your local health food store or grocery store!

If you can't find distilled water then you can use tap water but it's not as likely to stay fresh for as long.

I get my distilled water and glycerin from the pharmacy.

You can also buy vitamin c serums but they are extremely expensive!

Hey, so what are the exact ingredients in dans AHA? reason i ask is because my skin doesnt like oils or emollients. Why i use paula's choice personally and they have no parfum or colourants.

Amazon? I did try asking my proxy if it were possible but she insisted that it gets redirected to acne.org for shipment still? Does anyone know more about this??? Please? :'< I really just want to get the 16USD one to tryout first but the minimum shipping fee is almost 4 times the product itself and that's really heavy on the purse....

Is Dan's AHA suitable and effective for all skin types of different ethnicities??? :'< I hope so

It's rather difficult to find AHA based products here T_T Unless it's a skin specialist store or something, probably.... And Paula's choice can't even be found here...

>< Expensive huh? Is hyaluronic acid good? I've seen a lot of products containing that. Wonder if it works for red marks....

I don't think hyaluronic acid has any effect on red marks, but it is great for helping the skin retain moisture and look youthful
