Hello all,
I have tried numerous products, most recently Clean and Clear Acne Advantage and Clearasil Ultra. I want to know what type of acne you all figure I have, if medication is required, and etc. I drink water only all the time, except for the occasional can of soda every once in a while. I tried doing the wash with water only thing, and in a day I had like three new whiteheads. My cheeks are most definitely my problem areas, but my forehead gets the same too. Also my nose. My chin is relatively clear most of the time.
Both are topical. I'd avoid oral antibiotics I think they just make acne worse in the long run I really do. Lots of people on this site would agree, even if they do clear you your acne will come back with a vengeance once ou are off them. Your acne is so mild it's not worth the risk... Even you GP would prescribe you differin which is a mild topical similar to retin a
I always hate saying "I have acne" because I've seen people, unfortunately, that have severe acne. My pimples aren't abundant at first glance, but inspecting my skin there are lots of tiny pimples and my cheeks always have those big whiteheads and pustules, and it never subsides. My other side, the first photo, has never been this clear before. I'm hoping it stays like that.
Your skin is actually rather nice in my opinion. :3 I wouldn't do anything harsh to it at all, a gentle touch is all it needs. You have normal looking acne. I would stick with something like Dan's BP (which is way better than the 10% stuff at the store, that would be too harsh for you I think) and a good non comedogenic moisturizer like jojoba, olive oil, or something similar that is very natural.

Thank you! But my skin is very bleh to me, blotchy, red constantly cause of the pimples and slight rolling scars. I've used Clean and Clear Acne Advantage, that has BP in it. I'm not sure if it does much but eh

Aww I know how you feel, in real life it always feels like worse, I think we look so closely at our skin that everything seems more pronounced than it does for other people. But at least take solace in the fact that you look fine to others!

Yes, the Clean and Clear is a cleanser that you rub in and wash off. I might just wash my face with water until next week when I go to the dermatologist. But last time I did that within a day, I broke out on my cheeks and forehead. My forehead still quite hasn't cleared up as well as my cheek.
Were you personally ever on Retin A or Differin?
Yes I've been on them both. Differin controlled my light acne wonderfully. Then I went on antibiotics and my acne blew up. So then I was out on retin a back about 6 years ago and still use it
Well next week I've set up the derm appointment, now I'll have some background knowledge and see if she prescribes Differin. Thanks, I hope it's my solution! I've tried just about everything. Change in diet, exercise, sleep, everything. Nothing has worked.
very nice skin i have to say- just looks like a normal breakout. Ive taken a bunch of topicals but wont recc any because a specialist will know what works well with your skin type and issue. Do you get breakouts around the same place? Do you think its shaving related?
It's always in the same spots, no matter what. I get irritated shaving sometimes cause the acne is on my cheeks and I grow beards quickly and the hair goes high up my cheek, so It's always red and bumpy. But I wouldn't say its shaving related.
You don't have a general practioner? Who do you see if you get strep throat or need stitches or need a x ray? If you don't have a GP I would suggest finding one a a local clinic and talking to them about you acne concerns and I am sure they will help you. Usually the only reason you get referred to a derm is when a GP has exausted all other medications, like topicals and antibiotics. The first time I got differin was from my pediatrician when I was like 14 lol so I am positive any ol GP will give you something to help. Like I said though stay away from antibiotics

Should I order it? 
I think it is worth a try for sure. You acne is so mild and if you were to see a dermatologist I think they would start with Differin anyways. I don't think you need anything strong than differin either. So if you want to give it a shot I say go for it!
Also keep in mind that I am not a doctor either I am just speaking out of experience.
