Hi All! Sorry about my username, I made it really quickly and I was tired so idk haha. OK so this is a log of my Epiduo + Clindamycin (a topical antibiotic solution) journey. I probably had the least acne of anyone on this site. I had about 8 small comedones on my chin that weren't visible if a little concealer was applied. I have the occasional cystic pimple.
My "regimen" goes a little like this:
Morning-
Wash face with Clearasil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash
Moisturize with Eucerin Daily Protection SPF 30 Facial Moisturizer
Wait 15 Minutes
Apply Clindamycin onto affected areas
Night-
Wash face with Clearasil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash
Moisturize with Eucerin Daily Protection SPF 30 Facial Moisturizer
Wait an hour
Apply Epiduo to affected areas
Apply Clindamycin onto affected areas
Day 1:
No change at all, my skin was exactly the same. Blotchy tone and small pimples around my mouth
Day 2:
No change, except some scarring started fading - only a slight bit
Day 3:
More scars faded
Day 4:
Dryness starting. A small whitehead formed below my nose and another one on my chin
Day 5:
Both whiteheads became inflamed (probably beacuse I picked at them-ooopss)
Day 6:
HOLY POOP DRYNESS. The skin where I applied my Epiduo and Clindamycin was so red and dry I couldn't even wear makeup. It hurt and moisturizer only made it burn. I didn't know what to do. It was so terrible, I was scared everyone at my high school was staring at my mouth. This was literally the worst day for me so far
Day 7:
Redness died down but dry skin began to flake off. Acne did not change.
Day 8:
Flaking subsided temporarily
Day 9:
Still a little flakiness around my chin area. Inflamed pimples showed up
Day 10:
Pimple on my lip, small whitehead. Still bumpy around my mouth
Day 11: (today)
Ugh, I feel like I am never going to get better. There is a whitehead on my forehead - it hurts. Pimples around mouth still. This picture is of me right now sans makeup
You look so cute! I had good results on epiduo, and am using a clindamycin topical as well. I used epiduo for maintenence after Accutane, but stopped after I ran out of the tube (why on Earth, I can't remember) and now am basically back where I started. I hope it works for you!
