"acne No More" Is A Horrible Scam

I followed his book exactly, for a LONG time, and saw no results. It's a total scam and one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. If you want to turn you life up-side-down, spend all your money on vitamin supplements and organic vegetables for juicing, and if you want to get sucked into the strange pseudo-science of his brand of "nutrition", then do it.

Seriously, I believe Mike Walden is a con-man. When I bought his book, it was actually years ago, and went by a different name, "Your Last Acne Solution". I see he's re-branded. Myself, along with everyone on his message board, were not only desperate, but stupid, and in my case, young, and willing to do all this in good faith, thinking we were going to "cure" our acne. It never worked, no matter how close you followed his steps. In fact (and I'm not exaggerating here), you're required to follow his steps so closely, that it's almost like a cult. Seriously. People would ask this guy what to do about this, or about that, and just blindly follow. He's not a dermatologist, scientist, or doctor. He probably took a few nutrition classes or something, if that. Please read on....

Basically it involves you cutting out of your diet basically most things people eat regularly. He won't even allow fruit, cause it's too high in sugar, which he claims feeds bad bacteria in your body which create acne. You have to go on days-week long juice fasts, eat only the foods HE says are appropriate, "purge" your liver, which I believe was probably totally unhealthy with no medical research to back up any claims of benefit, watch EVERY SINGLE thing you eat, it's really really really psychotic, and quite honestly, evil and harmful. I cannot stress enough how EVERY SINGLE THING you eat or do is scrutinized in this book, to the point where it became virtually impossible to follow without going off a cliff of dieting insanity.

He is not a doctor or scientist and all the medical explanations about how your liver and organs and digestion works is not backed up by any scientific or medical journals. He's bases a lot of it on OTHER new-age, holistic, raw food-type, diet books.

As I said, I was desperate and stupid, as was a lot of people on the boards. EVERYONE was having issues not seeing results. EVERYONE. And his response was ALWAYS, "well, you have to do more", or "you're not fully cleansed". So, purge your liver more, do another juice fast, take MORE supplements, don't eat this or don't eat that. And you know what? We did it. For me it turned into a boarder line eating disorder. It's a completely psychotic thing to do, and the bottom line is my acne probably got worse during that period.

And he also use to refuse to refund anyone. He claimed that it's stated that "if we follow the program and don't see results we get a refund" BUT if we're not seeing results, that clearly means we're not following it or haven't followed it long enough, even if it was years. He'd say, well, you just have to purge your liver again or fast some more, and if you didn't and just wanted your money back, he's say you weren't following it, so you're not entitled to a refund.

So between the people wanting the refund (after turning their lives up-side-down and gaining a true eating disorder), and I suspect complaints to authorities, the website/message board was eventually shut down. And now it's back, as "Acne No More", with all kinds of bogus youtube videos. People, please believe me, if you go down this rabbit hole, not only will you not help your acne (and since he advocates STOPPING any topical/treatments you are using, which he claims interferes with his "all natural" methods, it will likely get much worse), but you will also open yourself up to a world of pain and misery with all these crazy fasts, purges, and excessive supplements, to the point that before you know it, you have an eating disorder, all because "if I eat this, I'll break out", "if I don't fast for 5 days, I wont cure my acne", "if I don't eat this way I'll never clear my skin", "if I don't eliminate this from my diet there's no hope", etc.

Go to a dermatologist. If you don't like them, find one you do like. Do Dan's regimen (which has worked pretty well for me). But DON'T believe a word of this "Acne No More" scam, no matter how much he tries to present his information as if it was scientific or medically sound. He's not a doctor or scientist. But he knows how to present things in a way that is convincing, and for non-doctors, it's impossible to disprove, because in order to disprove it, you have to do it, and when it doesn't work, he'll say you have to do it longer or harder or more intense, and it will just continue like that until you finally realize (traumatically in my case), that you've totally lost control of your life and have developed a psychotic way of making sense of you acne, and you have what basically amounts to an eating disorder. It's a gigantic scam and I fell for it.

DO NOT DO IT.

I've been sucked into scams like this before in my teen years. I would go on waster fasts, only drink juiced vegetables and basically deprive myself of all "man made" foods in hopes of attaining clear skin but it never, ever worked regardless. I did this type of stuff for so many years and even developed an eating disorder because of it (who wouldn't?).It was awful.

People like this guy encourage eating disorders and only add to the "self blame" cycle of acne. All these "natural pathic" doctors I used to go to would always point the finger of blame at me for having acne - they'd always say it was something I was bringing upon myself when really I had no control over it and I did absolutely everything to try to prevent it. I avoided all dairy, gluten, casein, citrus, only ate a vegan diet, went to bed at exactly 10 p.m everynight and woke up at 7 A.M (to create balance), drank apple cider vinegar, flaxseed oil, took saw palmetto, vitamin D, drank copious amounts of water - I did it all, you name it. But it did NOT work.

This is why I get so infuriated at a lot of these people on the forum claiming that acne is caused by bad diet and can be cured or completely manged if you become vegan and avoid dairy - which is simply not true. Some people have acne no matter what they do and people need to take that into consideration instead of saying "it's your fault".

Ahhh yes! I spent $40 on an E-book from that guy years ago! His methods involved all sorts of complicated shit, the details of which you can basically find on the internet for free anyway. There was all sorts of impossible-to-follow things in the book too, like getting organic goat milk kefir (which, by the way breaks me out badly) and mixing it with omega 3 oils... Plus ten million supplements and cleanses. I had already tried most of that stuff before but bought the book without knowing exactly what it entailed... totally wasted my money. I followed that shit religiously for I think 4-5 months at least. No change. I ended up going on the regimen after that.

I feel pretty safe in saying that any e-book offering the end-all solution to acne is a SCAM and you will be wasting your money buying it. If there was an end-all solution to acne, we'd ALL know about it already. The only things that even come close to it are the regimen and accutane and even those don't work for everyone or come with rough side effects. But at least there is some proof, that for some people, they help. With these e-books, we get nothing.

Thanks guys for replying. I hear you both and I feel your pain, because I've been there and it was awful.

Aside from the eating disorders, psychotic attempts to "purge" your liver and juice cleanse, and being completely consumed by this lifestyle, one of the worst parts is the way it totally diverts you from using treatments and medicine that will actually work and help you. This book actually encourages you to stop all creams or prescriptions. It's such a load of crap.

Most of the people I've encountered that cleared their skin bought into no scams, gimmicks, cleanses or such things, except perhaps the Atkins dieters that discovered that avoiding all the scrap refined carbs cleared their skin. But they were doing it for weightloss purposes. Then there's the person I encountered in an elevator telling another about her new diet involving not eating anything with ingredients she couldn't pronounce, which means mostly eating real food. It cleared her skin. And then there's been tons of people here many of which have posted their stories in the pinned success story thread.

Also, most of the people here on this forum tried all the drugs and creams and got little to no improvement. I've taken at least half a dozen different antibiotics, all kinds of topicals, oral birth control, spiro and two courses of accutane. Over the course of many years and many dermatologists. They didn't help. My diet did. I do no fasting. I eat nearly everything. I just don't eat much of many things as they have little to no value and may do nothing but harm -- sodas for example.

But I agree, don't buy such books. There isn't a special diet specific for controlling acne. What does is the same diet and lifestyle habits that prevent, reduce and even reverse diabetes cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (which didn't even exist until recently and now children get it), many cancers, and all kinds of diseases everyone around you suffers from today. Real, whole nutrient dense food.

DO NOT DO IT.

I remember the days I tried apple diet to cure acne, you remember " Acne free in 3 days" Just eat apple for 3 days and get cured of acne. lol

I know I was foolish but I forgave myself 🙂 Forgive yourself man, don't beat yourself up. Let go of all the sad emotions. They are real people you can find that can cure your acne. I myself got rich clients, who come to me as a last resort for either laser treatment or alternative ways to cure acne. Laser does a fantastic job, but they expect more and so I introduce them to proven long term startegies. They work period! The methods are not well known because only few look in the right places. Most go for a quick fix 🙁

Curing acne starts with you and only you. Don't think too much and beat yourself up for the small investment you made! You tried something and it did not work, but don't give up dude. It is not cancer, may be cancer is incurable but not acne. I tried so many methods before one clicked for me 🙂 NEVER GIVE UP! As edison said " I did not fail 1000 times, but only 1000 ways that don't work!" Cheer up and love you man 🙂

A lot of people get improvement from Dan's regimen. I've not eaten anything I can't pronounce, drank soda, touched candy or anything else processed for years and look at me. Worse than ever and only seeing improvements thanks to medications.

Yes, I know, but you have to admit that you are not 'most people' and have issues far more serious than acne. And have for a very long time.

Worse than ever and only seeing improvements thanks to medications.

Worse than ever now. But you have told us in the past that you had controlled your acne via diet changes. But it worsened in the past year.

Yeah, I did. I was also on the regimen during that time. There has sadly never been a time where I wasn't on medication where I was clear. :(

Anything called "acne no more" pretty much has to be a scam. I think acne products in general are scams. People selling them have to be really horrible to benefit from other peoples' insecurities like that.

I agree with you, but we cannot deny the fact that there are a few that are really good, it depends on the situation though. Acne is not that fatal, but having it is really embarassing as we give importance to our appearance.

to be honest, for me a big RED FLAG was when he talked about this Elisha Levi guy he saw in his trip to israel.

Im from israel, and ive never ever heard of this guy in my life, even when i tried very hard to google him, and i think that if he appeared in shows i would defently find something...

still, i think some of the stuff do help to some extent.

btw, im curious to know, how did the liver cleanse affect u? i never done it and thought of doing it at some point in the future, but now clearly i have to rethink things.
