So i've had acne for about 6 years, on and off. My acne isn't really bad right now, but i've been getting bad break outs the past month. I decided to visit a derm (should've done this years ago). I was just prescribed Doxycycline and a Clindamycin 1% topical lotion. My derm said to continue using the products im using (proactiv). However, i'm using Murad's Pure Skin Dietary Supplement, and i'm not sure if i should completely come off it. I've been using it for about 2 months, and i think it's sort of been working i haven't really been able to tell. I asked my derm, she said just not to take the pills with the vitamins, because of the amount of zinc, it might block it from working. But i dont know, i want to be safe and let the antibiotics work. I'm not sure if anyone has any experience with these exact vitamins and antibiotics, but what did you do with your vitamins?
Another thing, my derm said that if the antibiotics don't work in 6 weeks, she wants to put me on Accutane, which i found surprising because i didn't think my acne was that bad. She did classify my acne as moderate to severe however. (I'll attach some photos)
Anyways, if you have any tips or anything for these antibiotics that would be cool.
HI just wanted to say be careful with vitamins and minerals taken near doxycycline folllow guidelines also very importantly take 2 ibuprofen which is 400 mg advil twice a day exactly when u take doxycycline doses right with it and youre acne will virtually be gone until u develop resistance to doxy down the road careful in sun too. if sensitive with doxy ask derm for duricef 500 mg twice a day and always use 400mg ibuprofen right when u take antibiotic doses. Geeatly jncreases absorption making rssults extremely jmpressive good luck
