I am just about finished with my 3rd month on isotretoin. I obviously have scarring but due to self conscious issues I can not tell if they are better or worse than what I am imagining them to be. I would like opinions on how bad they are, and also how my progression with accutane is going. When I began accutane I was having moderate breakouts but the red marks never stayed as they are now. However, when I mention scarring I am not talking about the red marks I am talking about pockmarks and the formation of.
You didn't provide a before picture so i can't compare your acne before to now but in all honesty you seem to only have a few ;arge pimples and few tiny ones (clogged pores?). As for the pock marks, i have those as well from years of acne and they are still there. It doesn't look bad though and once the acne and redness goes away completely, it won't be that obvious TBH. If it bothers you that much, 6 month after your last dose you can look into lasers (which in my derms opinion is not worth it unless the scarring is moderate to severe and acne is in 100% remission.
Thanks for the hastily reply. Sadly I don't have any pictures from before because I avoided cameras like the plague, still do haha. I currently have two papules (maybe nodules?) on the left side of my mouth/under my mouth. I still have tons of clogged pores and what I'm noticing is that get inflamed and purge themselves. I would prefer if they just went away without getting irritated but I guess I'll take what i can get.
and my scars may not be that bad, but you know how it is looking and seeing them everyday. It really starts to take a toll on your psyche. Again, thanks for the reply and giving some feedback. Hopefully, like you said, when all this mess calms down I won't need any treatments.
