Acne/purple Marks On Chest- Is This Pih Or Scarring And Will It Fade?

Hey guys, new poster here. I've been fighting back/chest acne since around October now. I never had bad acne problems before, I think it started because I started going to a gym whereas before I would work out at home and I just never took the proper precautions IE: I'd go to the gym, eat after, not change shirts and/or shower until a couple hours later. Acne started to build and I just ignored it until it became too severe.

I've been on a regimen of products prescribed by my derm including BP, Acanya gel, and Solodyn. My chest acne got a lot better, but now I'm left with flat, reddish purple marks. I attached a few pics.

I just wanted to confirm if this is indeed PIH that will eventually fade/go away, hopefully with sped up healing provided I use some of the treatments reccomended by the pinned topics here. I'd also anxious to know whether my case is particularly severe, as I'm pretty upset/depressed about the whole thing especially since summer is only 3 months away now. I just hate the uncertainty of not knowing whether or not this is going to get much better. Greatly appreciate any help or input.

That's not PIH, you will need to see your doctor or gp, could be some form of disease or even early signs of skin cancer. Highly recommend you get that seen ASAP!

I highly doubt that, it was acne before and now has reverted to these marks. I saw my derm on Monday and he said it's inflammatory scarring which takes anywhere from 3-12 months to fade, although he also claimed that there's nothing you can do for fading red marks besides laser treatment which runs contrary to what I've been reading here and elsewhere in regards to fade reducing products. And the picture does make it look a little worse than it is, my marks are not as dark purple as the lighting suggests.

i've been using diluted apple cider vinger as a toner, and leaving honey on as a mask for an hour every 3 days and have seen amazing results!

my spots were not as dark as yours but pretty darn close... now theyre becoming a faint pink :)

i really recommend it.

you'll wanna get the organic vinegar "with the mother' to see faster results.

good luck to you!

Yeah, I was thinking of giving ACV a shot. Appreciate the advice. Can I ask what ratio of water to vinegar you use when you dilute it? Thanks!
