Candida Fungus Alters Hormones

1. Candida can bind to hormones, altering their shape so they're no longer able to fit into their target receptor, making certain hormones inactive. This creates a hormonal imbalance.

2. However, it is rarely understood that candida also contributes to hormonal problems. A candida waste product produces a false estrogen, which tricks the body into thinking it has produced adequate levels, signaling a reduction of its own estrogen. Similar messages can also be sent to the thyroid, reducing thyroxin production and initiating or worsening a hypothyroid problem.

3. Elevated estrogen levels also increase vaginal candidiasis (thrush) incidence. Estrogen will literally feed candida growth, which is why birth control pills and estrogen replacement therapy put women at a greater risk of developing candida.

4. Did you ever wonder why so many women have to use progesterone cream? It is because fungus devours progesterone and changes it into prednisone. Drug companies farm fungus colonies, feeding them progesterone to make the drug prednisone--which they then sell to consumers as a remedy for everything. Prednisone is just one of the many powerful mycotoxins produced by fungus which can kill bacteria.

5. This explains why most women are estrogen dominant. Generally these women do not have an excess of estrogen, but they lack progesterone due to fungus overgrowth. These hormonal imbalances can cause the face to break out, breasts to lose firmness, hair problems, and perhaps most significantly, depression and migraines.

Really interesting! thank you for posting! Do you know of any natural ways/remedies to elevate progesterone?

The most direct way is over the counter progesterone USP cream. This is bioidentical progesterone that the body can absorb transdermally.

More subtle ways of increasing progesterone are:

Plant Progesterones

  • Wild yam is famous for containing hormone-like compounds that are very similar to progesterone, and it may encourage the body's own production of the hormone. Bear in mind that the sweet potato, a different vegetable, does not contain these compounds. In the United States, soft sweet potatoes are typically labeled as yams; the government does require the label to also say sweet potato, so read carefully.

True Progesterone

  • Egg yolks and dairy products both contain respectable amounts of true progesterone, but it is not known how directly they interact with the human body's own progesterone stores.

Foods with Vitamin B-6

  • Walnuts, whole grains, fortified cereals, and soy milk all contain large amounts of vitamin B-6, which may be essential for maintaining ideal estrogen-progesterone balance.

Foods Containing Zinc

  • Zinc is thought to be essential to producing adequate levels of progesterone, so high-zinc foods like red meat, shellfish, chicken and turkey can all increase progesterone levels.

Culinary Herbs

  • Turmeric, found in curry, can increase the body's progesterone levels, as can thyme and oregano. Including one of these in every meal may help to maintain good hormone balance.

This might sound ignorant but, it's because I don't know much about treating acne hormonally.

Do you think taking some sort of MSM supplement would help? Candida is yeast which is a fungus, right? MSM is sulfur which would kill the candida internally before any of those health problems can occur.

I'm also interested in this topic... is the kokoro balance creme a good choice for a natural progesterone cream? It's yam derived...does that mean it will not act as quickly as the synthetic or the soy kind? My 17hydroxyprogesterone is low, but other hormones seem to be in the normal range. I'm assuming that the 17hydroprogesterone is a form of progesterone, but is it the only kind? My doctor said that this shouldn't affect or cause acne, but I think it is related, based on the research I 've done.

Btw, I used MSM cream topically and it helps with scar healing but it can take up to a month to see minor improvement.
