Hello Everyone,
My derm recently prescribed me Retin A Micro .1% for acne issues. I have also been very self-conscious about the texture and scarring on my face due mostly to poor treatment when breaking out and popping zits when I shouldnt be over the years.
Does anyone know if Retin A will also help remove or lessen the scaring on my face? Or, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might want to look into?
I'm wearing makeup in these pictures, but you can still see most of the scaring.
Thanks so much!
Hey! You have rather minimal scars/enlargened pores so yes retin-a will probably help a bit but expect it to take several months before there's any visible difference in skin texture. In addition if you want you could try dermarolling or chemical peels but be careful not to irritate your skin too much and dermarolling is best avoided on areas with active acne. You can find a lot of information on those in the forums.
yeah you begin with good looking skin and you can achieve great results with the derma roller ..
Sorry to bump my older topic here, but do you or anyone know what size might be appropriate for my type of scarring and how frequently? Once I clear up a bit, I'd love to look into a derma roller for at home use.
the number of needles actually matter more than the length...i would go with 3 line 0.50 ,0.75,1 mm...
i would experiment with these sizes... if you buy a regular(192 needles) 1mm the needles wouldnt not go that deep
but instead there would be something like scratching/massaging/stimulating the skin with less penetration...
Less needles are equal to more penetration(see the fakir stuff).
