Serious Or Just A Teenage Overreaction?!

Hey everyone :)

I've been suffering from mild to moderate acne problems since I was around 15 years of age. Now that I am a couple of months away from 19 and heading into the second year of my degree, my patience and self-esteem are in short supply when it comes to my skin. I wasn't too bothered about it back in high school, as most people had zits, but nowadays the majority of people that I know who are my age have got ridiculously clear skin. This is quite an alienating feeling, the thought of going out in public, let alone the thought of talking to girls (I'm single, which doesn't help the ol' self esteem :'() fills me with complete dread.

My current regime is just using a neutrogena gentle cleanser morning and night, followed with an application of moisturiser, and then exfoliating once a week. I've been doing this from the very outset of my breakouts, and while it's been keeping my face consistent, my face has never been completely clear, and it's kinda depressing when you can't remember what you looked like when you had clear skin :'(

My dad and older brother both had moderate to severe acne until they finished puberty, but saying that, there is no way they cared for their skin as much as I do haha. I have a very clean diet and drink plenty of water, but to be honest it hasn't cleared up my skin much more than when I used to eat ridiculously large amounts of junk food and down a big bottle of coke everyday.

The purpose of me writing up this thread is to seek second opinions of sorts, is my skin bad enough that I should seek professional help? Should I try a different treatment like Dan's Regimen? Or am I just overreacting like a baby, and that I'm on the right track.

Thanks, and have a good day

Your skin is great. I wouldn't even consider that "acne." I have so many friends who get occasional break-outs a lot worse than that, and no one considers them to have acne or skin issues. Seriously, you have a couple of pimples. Most people do. You look great, don't worry about it! You have nice skin!

Thanks guys, feels so much better getting a second opinion :). I'll change my shaving methods and see if the inflammation lessens
