Hi, fat loss in the face could make scars have a more sunken appearance.

Same here!

I lost 20 lbs and my face has suffered as a result. I am trying to gain at least 10 lbs. I am just too thin at 112 lbs. ha ha

Hopefully, all in my face. lol.gif

Renn,

Also your skin can look dull from weight loss, some may experience this with prescription antibiotic treatments. To help your skin out, just drink plenty of water, it will help your skin from looking parched and dehydrated.

Water/hydration really does make skin look a lot better.

When I lost weight my scars seemed to appear worse. I assume it's due to fat loss in the face as well as the body.

It's probably the fact that the skin isn't being stretched like it used to.

As far as face fat goes I have always thought of the opposite. That when you get older acne scars *can* look worse if you start putting some fat on around the old mug. Apparently scars which were lying on the surface unnoticeable start becoming noticeable as the surounding skin starts plumping out.

And they can look worse if you lose weight eh?

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't sort of thing.

How did you combat this?

I still think that it depends on the individual.......people say the extra fat will help fill your face out, but that really doesn't work......if your face is fat and then you lose weight it might appear that your scars look worse because your skin is used to being stretched out and no longer is.......now in my case case i have always been skinny and now i am starting to gain fat in my cheeks and i have grown another chin, not as bad as i make it sound...but anyway now my scars are more noticable because my skin is more loose than it used to be, so i am hoping that if i can add some cardio to my workouts and eat better i will lose the extra face fat and i will have tight facial skin again eusa_dance.gif

Hi Dilip! While I don't have the answer to your question, I believe creating a new thread with your problem will help you find answers as this is quite an old thread.
