Hello,
I've never really had acne before, only the occassional pimple there and there. It all started ~5months ago with bad breakouts on my forehead which eventually calmed down, now for a change, I've started getting pimples on my chin instead.
To the point, I've never had a pimple leave a scar before (luckily), until now, which is weird as I haven't done anything differently. Being absolutely clueless when it comes to acne scars, is there anything I can do to prevent them/make them disappear (they're only a couple days old)? (red square)
Thanks in advance.
I know how devastating gaining new scars can be, I've been there! When I was younger, I could get the worst pimples and not scar, but now I scar with nearly every blemish. It's depressing. In general, though, refraining from picking or squeezing decreases your chances of scarring. However, some cysts even if left untouched will leave a scar, so it's not guaranteed unfortunately. In addition to not squeezing, I've found that if I keep the blemish moisturized my chances of scarring lessen. So I try to avoid slathering on a ton of drying medications, the pimple goes away faster, yes, but the scar is not worth the speedy recovery time for me.
Luckily, dermarolling is pretty effective for scarring. I think your scars would respond nicely to it.
