Why Masturbation / Ejaculation Cause Acne ( Acne = Toxicity * Deficiency )

This is just my theory and personal experience on acne. I'll try to keep it as simple as possible.

 

Semen contains the following nutrients:

 

 

vitamin C (for tissue maintenance)

blood-group antigens (from immune system)

calcium (mineral)

chlorine (oxidizing agent)

cholesterol (steroid alcohol present in body fluids and the base of all hormones)

choline (base, part of the vitamin B complex)

citric acid (occurs during cellular metabolism)

creatine (nitrogenous substance found in muscle)

deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)

enzymes (create a wide array of chemical reactions in the body)

fructose (sugar used for energy)

glutathione (peptide amino acid)

hyaluronidase (enzyme)

inositol (sugar found in muscles)

iron (mineral)

lactic acid (byproduct of muscle use)

lecithin

magnesium (mineral)

nitrogen (gas found in all living tissue)

phosphorus (mineral)

potassium (mineral)

purine (compound of uric acid)

prostaglandins (an EFA rich special chemical)

pyrimidine (organic base)

pyruvic acid (formed from either glucose or glycogen)

sodium (salt)

sorbitol (body alcohol)

spermidine (catalytic enzyme)

spermine (ammonia compound found in sperm)

vitamin B12 (for proper function of nervous system and metabolism)

vitamin E (fat soluble vitamin)

zinc (trace mineral, very concentrated in semen, 100x more than in the blood)

 

One of the key role of those nutrients is to help the body metabolise lipids, carbs, protein etc.

 

Constant ejaculation leads to a deficiency in the above nutrients and consequently a body that inefficiently metabolises food. If your liver can not break down fat, the fat gets released into the bloodstream and expelled out of the skin which leads to acne.

 

Acne = Toxicity * Deficiency

 

Nutrient deficiency can be caused by a host of factors including:

 

- nutrient deficient diet

- lack of sun exposure (vitamin d)

- stress

- Masturbation (is just a part of the deficiency equation)

 

Toxins can accumulate in the body from:

 

- processed food

- environment (air, water, soil quality)

 

So a poor diet combined with constant ejaculation spells an acne eruption.

 

From personal experience I've been on a 100% wholefoods diet and masturbated frequently with no acne. I've been on a 20 day water fast with no ejaculation and had no acne. After the water fast I've eaten toxic food (pizza, donuts, chocolate, mcdonalds etc.) without masturbating and had no acne. BUT once I started masturbating while eating junk food acne started to flare up within a day. Masturbation causing acne is like night and day for me.

 

Please note that I placed a * (multiplication) in the equation instead of + (addition) because toxicity and deficiency works synergistically together. The higher the amount of toxins and the greater the deficiency the greater probability of acne. However acne does not exist without one and/or the other.

 

Acne = Toxicity * Deficiency

A = T*D

A = 0 if T and/or D = 0

water fast = eat nothing and just drink water

its a great way to detoxify the body and provide an environment for your body to heal itself as it does not need to spend energy metabolising food but redirect its energy in breaking down toxins, scar tissues, fat etc.

During a fasting state you wouldn't have the energy to masturbate so by taking that out of the equation you're hitting 2 birds with one stone as you're detoxing and abstaining.

I think that the reason masturbation causes acne is much deeper than just nutrient deficiency. I have my own personal theory:

 

Masturbation/sex raises prolactin in the body. The more prolactin, the more 5-alpha-reductase. 5-alpha-reductase converts testosterone to dht. and dht is known to cause acne. These are pretty much all proven. I am just trying to put the puzzle pieces together. If you check out my thread, there are links to all the studies proving each one. I don't want to post them all here though:

Basically people are trying to target dht by taking anti-androgens but i think instead we should target prolactin which by that chain of events causes more dht which induces acne. It is just a theory though...

 

Personally, if I masturbate more than twice a week, i breakout pretty bad. I find no difference in masturbating once a week and abstaining completely from it. Right now I am looking into ways of decreasing prolactin in the body.

Yeah I've read up on the DHT/Acne connection, I've tried taking beta-sitosterol to to stop the DHT without much success. I'd be interested to see how you go with reducing prolactin.

 

The problem I find with supplements is that the body poorly absorbs the nutrients. I believe nutrients needs to be raw and in its natural state with other co-factors (like fruits and veggies) for the body to absorb it properly. Personally I found eating salmon made my skin glow within hours but taking fish oil supplements made no difference.

I found the same thing with salmon too. I ate alot of salmon for two weeks. I think i had wild canned salmon for two of every three meals and it definetly helped my skin alot whereas fish oil supplements made no difference. It was too expensive and impractical to keep up though. I agree with your philosophy. Nutrients need to be consumed in whole foods, not isolated chemically derived vitamins and minerals. Gamma linolenic acid (GLA) in the form of borage oil and lecithin (I use egg yolk) for absorption helps alot with my acne. This is because GLA is a potent inhibitor of 5-alpha-reductase. FYI, I have heard that its almost impossible to absorb GLA from your diet unless you take it with a lecithin supplement (raw egg yolk is high in lecithin. cooking destroys the lecithin). So i have had semi success with lowering my DHT from GLA. I personally believe that acne fundamentally comes down to DHT. I will update you if the bromocriptine works because that should indirectly lower my DHT.

I also agree that excess ejaculation can deplete your enzymes/vitamins/minerals/etc but i think the main factor in masturbation is due to raising your prolactin levels. check out the links on my thread.

Hey guys.

 

Hey.

 

I wanted to add one thing to your equation: illness.

 

I have sinus-related issues almost all the time. Dealing with nasal or post-nasal phlegm is a near constant thing for me. I don't know what causes it. I have talked to an ENT specialist and she told me to just use a neti pot if I want to. It helps, but doesn't prevent the problem. She gave me an approval to go get allergy-tested, but I never did because I'm a lazy idiot.

 

Anyway. So. I find that illness exacerbates the masturbation issue even more. If I ejaculate more than twice per week (consistently) I work my way toward full-blown cysts and nodules in short order, usually few in number but large and painful nonetheless. If I cut back on ejaculation, the deeper acne goes away.

 

If I'm mildly ill with some sinus blockage and soreness, and I'm NOT ejaculating much at the time, I tend to get waves of numerous small whiteheads and red inflamed things. If I am ill AND masturbating, it basically acts like a scalar multiplier and makes my acne larger and more intense AND numerous because of the illness.

 

One thing that helps tremendously with phlegm is GARLIC. Garlic is a natural expectorant. Luckily, my stomach and esophagus are quite strong and resilient, so I usually don't experience any trouble from eating garlic. I try not to eat it raw though, because that can quite harsh on the throat. Instead, I just chop up a clove or two and toss in it with my meal. Usually later on that day I can feel the phlegm loosening.

 

But again, because I'm a lazy idiot I tend to not to follow through with these strategies. I think of all the negatives "Oh, well, I'll have bad breath", etc. "Oh I don't want to bother with the neti pot, I have to make sure to clean it, I have to heat the water, etc.".. "But If I don't masturbate now I'll just be on edge, and I want to relax"...

 

Anyway. The body is complex. I can't comprehend people who have sex every day or every other day, and I'm sure they can't comprehend me (us). I *WISH* I could, but I simply can't. Luckily my gf and I both are cool with less frequent sex. She's not a sex-crazed lunatic, and for me I think holding off a couple extra days is a fun recurring exercise in patience, self-control, etc. So the end result is not all that bad. I guess.

Phelgm is a way for your body to detox whatever you originally ingested. Instead of trying to supress phelgm .... let your body do its job of expelling toxins.
