Hey everyone. The title says it all, when i decided to get clear skin (which i have now) i stopped masturbate right away! I feel like i have so much more power and energy than ever before! I don't want to end this good habit. But i was wondering if its unhealthy for you?

I say no, there really is no point in masturbation.

People tend to say "oh but it prevents cancer", I've seen studies that say the opposite.

It's a hard challenge, and if you are able to keep on going, then the better that is.

I'd say moderate is the best answer for this topic lol Don't do it everyday, 2-3 times a week is ok.

My argument would be, if you had a girlfriend or wife would you stop sleeping with her because of acne?

All i can say i love my girlfriend very much and i wouldn't care if not masturbating or having sex was the cure i'd still have sex with her.

Also i don't believe this is the sole course or answer. I read on here most people change their diets at the sometime they stopped masturbating so how can the said people rule out diet or masturbation?

Your absolutely right, i wouldn't give sex up for acne. But masturbation? Thats just waste of time!

Well, for one thing, the point is to have an orgasm.

So...there's that.

And secondly...how in the fuck is it possible to stop masturbating long-term? The longest I've ever gone was three months (first semester freshman year of college, when I was too nervous about my roommate walking in on me doing it to even try it, and I sure as hell wasn't doing it in the bathroom when other dudes would walk in and strike up conversations...kinda throws off my concentration, ya know?), and looking back, I am utterly amazed I was able to make it that long.

I can't go more than 7-10 days now without masturbating.

I do think it might have an effect, but that's pretty much moot. It's like asking someone not to take a piss.

lol.

So get where you're coming from.

After a week i am clucking especially if i haven't seen my girlfriend that week.

I personally find sex or masturbation has zero effect on my skin, even if it did somethings just ain't worth giving up.

This is another example of acne can control someones life.

I'm glad we've enjoyed the same success! I've also cleared my face 100% simply by avoiding orgasms.

I recommend you ignore the detractors and continue to do what you feel is best for your situation smile.png

I am happy for anyone who has got cleared but life is there to be enjoyed.

What will people do if they decided they want to start a family. Good luck doing that without having an orgasm :D

Good to hear :)

I don't believe orgasms can be the root problem of acne, but i definately think it can aggravate it !

Zinc is a DHT blocker and is also required for organ development. After 2-3 years of abstinence you should be alright.

zinc is proven to lower prolactin levels. the more prolactin the more 5-alpha-reductase. 5-alpha-reductase converts testosterone to dht which then causes acne. So yes, zinc indirectly can lower dht in the body. I have links to all the studies at my thread:

http://www.acne.org/...may-cause-acne/

if you experience breakouts from orgasms, you might want to check out my thread. I think it is a new approach to why we have acne which is prolactin.

No because women dont lose zinc like guys do when we ejaculate.

Masturbation, well ejaculation, releases prolactin which antagonizes dopamine. Dopamine is important neurotransmitter especially for mood and motivation, this is why you feel dull after masturbating. Having a new partner increases natural dopamine production and may cancel the bad effects of prolactin. Also the intercourse is different since oxytocin and other pair-bonding hormones are activated. Watching porn also releases dopamine which desentisizes you to sexual stimulation, and this of course is a bad thing. There may be indirect link between dopamine and acne at least in some people. Feeling good and lesser acne tend to go hand-in-hand meanwhile anxiety, depression, stress come together with worsened acne.

Masturbation is not evil or anything but keeping it less can be beneficial. I remember reading about some old chinese advice "once in two weeks in the winter, once a week in the summer". Maybe that's good guideline lol.

So, basically, women can masturbate all they want and don't have to worry about getting acne because of it? lol

If you assume women's hormones stay exactly the same during and after the act. Which is absolutely not true.

Any kind of imbalance can lead to problems.
