Okay so I'm 14... I started the caveman skincare regimen thing today so my skin doesn't really look different yet. I'm posting pictures but just saying I look pretty ugly in these pictures because I just got back from dance classes and I was tired and the lighting was bad.

If you don't know what the caveman is... Its basically you dont wash your face with water or anything for at least a month. Its supposed to rebuild the acid mantle that protects your skin and allows your skin to heal on its own. Once the 30 days is up you can wash your face with plain water.

I was using proactiv before this so I'm expecting a really bad breakout from stopping proactiv. I'm hoping that i dont get one though because as you can see from the pictures my skin is already bad. I'm having a hard time not touching, picking, or popping too. I actually popped a zit after I took these and I know I will regret it.

I'm going to try to eat a little healthier too and take supplements because like any other teenage I pretty much just eat junk. I only drink water though but not very much so I'm going to try drinking a gallon a day of filtered water. I'm going to start using an organic shampoo because right now mine has sls which is supposed to cause acne. I'm also going to get an organic toothpaste because of sls and flouride.

I am really hoping this works because I've tried everything even the urine thing.

Wow I can't believe I put these pictures up on the internet... I look so bad in them :(

Your skin is not bad at all. Please don't call yourself ugly, you're too young to get into that mindset.

Won't this regime cause dead skin? and won't that lead to clogged pores and then acne or enlarged pores?

Im not trying to be one of those girls who say their ugly to get attention. These pictures make me look really ba though. I know my skin isn't as bad as some people's but compared to my friends and people I know it is awful. I get made fun of for it. Yes this does cause dead skin built up but it's supposed to help your skin heal. It's hard to explain. I'd put a link but I can't cause I'm on my phone so just google it.

This will cause dead skin and whiteheads (whitehead only the first weeks and it is supposed to cure the blemishes or red marks). I would recommend to be at least for 1 week without bathing (to recover acid mantle ). After that the dead skin mask will come, Dont be abrassive to skin, dont do hot showers or things that can dry up the skin.

Okay thanks. Ive read about it pretty much but thanks for explaining the whithead part. I probably would have popped them all and made everything worse. I still shower but I dont get my face wet... is that still okay? I'm only doing it to my face becasue the rest of my skin is fine.

Okay so day 2 is officially coming to a close. I'll just review the day a little so you guys know what all I did. So the eating healthy thing isn't going to good. I had a ton of candy and sugar. My dinner was pretty healthy though! I had a salad:) I seriously ate a kit kat for breakfast. I'm not feeling to good probably from all the candy. I put a little makeup on today to try and cover some of the zits because I had dance with people this time. Last night it was just a private so it didn't matter if I looked bad. I took a cotton ball with a little water on it to take the makeup off of the areas I put it on. I'm homeschooled so i don't have to wear makeup.

Okay on to the pictures. I'm already starting to see the dead skin mask. You can't really see it in the pictures though. I'm starting to get whiteheads too. I guess thats good. My blackheads are starting to go away or turn into whiteheads. My skin isn't oily at all after 2 days of not washing. I think my skins doing pretty good on it. Oh yeah I will be out of town tomorrow so I wont be able to post pictures but I'll try to take them and put them up on saturday.

I'm on day 3 of the "modified" caveman regimen. I'm washing my face twice a day with honey and water. Honey has a slightly acidic PH (also very soothing and antibacterial)- and tap water has a slightly BASIC PH- so when you mix the two, you get a perfect skin PH balancing formula! I'm doing this to ween my skin off of all products. If I can clear my skin a little bit by doing this, I will eventually stop washing my face at all. A week ago, I was using a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer two times a day. What were you doing to your skin before deciding to go this route?

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! (AND TO BOTH OF US!! :))

Before this I was using proactiv! Its probably one of the worst things to just stop completly but I did it and I didn't have any huge breakout. Sorry for the lack of pictures... I've been really busy. I think I'll just post pictures like when I'm halfway throught the 30 days and at the end of the 30 days then update it every so often. Right now my face is healing really good! Those 2 really red zits are fading and everything is just less inflamed. The clogged pores are starting to go away. The dead skin mask is for sure there. Its not as embarrising as I though. It looks like I'm using a drying acne treatment or my skins just dry from winter. My face never really got greasy or anything. I did get 1 cyst but its already going away. I'm not really embarrased anymore to go out without makeup. My skin is getting closer to being clear. I hope by the end of the 30 days it will be clear.

As for diet.... yeah thats not going to well. I figured that if I couldn't give up my junk food I should at least add supplements. I've been taking 2,000 mcg of biotin for my hair and nails, a b complex, and a vitamin c supplement. Well I take them sometimeseusa_think.gif

So whats the update on the condition of your skin? My trial kind of failed. I didn't stick to it as well as I should have and my skin was not getting any better. Boo :(

Sorry I haven't been updating! I've been busy. I think I mentioned that I dance before.. We had a dress rehearsal for our Christmas show and I had to wear a lot of makeup. I ended up using water to wash it off... That didn't take it off so I used a face wash... Well it made the dead skin mask really noticeable and I had to put mAkeup on again afterward because my skins was really red so I used a harsh sugar scrub... Big mistake. The next few days my mom was asking me why my face was breaking out so bad and if I was still using proactiv every night... I kind of lied and said yes. Anyway it's been about a week and a half since that and it's clearing up pretty good. I can wear makeup and not even rinse with water without breaking out. My skin isn't clear yet but it probably would have been if it wasn't for my slip up. Overall my skin looks better than the before pics. Ill try to post pics again soon
