Alternative Moisturizer: Dan's Or Cerave?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I've been using on the regimen with cetaphil cleanser, epiduo 2.5% bp and cetaphil moisturizer. Ive found that the moisturizer is very greasy so i was considering alternatives. I live in Australia so how could i get cerave? If not should i just get Dan's moisturizer? Thanks.

Amazon products that are "fulfilled by Amazon" are usually a safe bet. If it's another seller that's just using Amazon as a sell point, sometimes there can be problems. Just look for "fulfilled by Amazon."

Dan's moisturizer is good but personally I think CeraVe is better. This is why:

Dan's moisturizer:

Water, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Methyl Gluceth-20, Squalane, Saccharide Isomerate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Olivate, PEG-12 Glyceryl Distearate, PEG-23 Glyceryl Distearate, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

In Dan's the main ingredient after water is Jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is a SEALANT, not a moisturizer. What you really want are humectants that attract water into the skin. See my other post for more details on this topic.

CeraVe contains hyaluronic acid and other good humectants, ceramides, and uses a patented MVE (multivescular emulsion) that guarantees penetration of the right ingredients into your skin. It used to be Rx only (long time ago), and even though it's in drugstores now, it still contains better ingredients than most moisturizers at the same price point.

Either is a good choice, though for specific reasons, I think CeraVe is better. CeraVe also has overall higher ratings on this site than Dan's Moisturizer's ratings.
