Which is more gentle Differin or Retin-a mirco

Recommended Posts

I have a dry skin problem. i dont seem to be tolerating Retin-a mirco .1% well because it is really drying me out.

so i want to try Differin because it supposedly is gentler. To does that have used it how drying is it?

thanks for the help

Hmm. Well, I personally didn't find differin particularly drying, although if you are finding Retin-A micro dries you out, you might find differin drying also.

Have you tried applying a moisturiser a few minutes after applying Retin-A? The best to use with this method is pure emu oil (available fairly cheaply on ebay) - it won't clog your pores and helps the retin-A penetrate more deeply into the skin.

If you don't want to try this, I'd speak to your derm about the dryness - they may be able to prescribe something more gentle such as duac or benzamycin.
