noggin 0 Share Posted September 29, 2004 i looked on my sample tube of duac and it says "best used by 9/10/200". i thought those medications would last longer than that. maybe the derm kept it for a while before he gave it to me though. i've been using it since it's been expired. is this a bad thing? i've noticed my face has been turning bright red a lot lately. it didn't do that before. also, it's not killing the pimples i have anymore. i would get more but i don't even have a perscription for it yet. i have to get one from the derm. i have an appt. next week. do you think i should stop using the duac? faithinhim 0 Share Posted October 2, 2004 I really don't know. My sample tubes expired the 1st of October. But my derm took me off it Sep 30th because the duac made my skin look like I had a sunburn and chemical peel all at once. She put me on Klaron instead.
noether 0 Share Posted October 3, 2004 I used Benzamycin that was about 1.5-2 months expired because I would only use it at night and put it on really light. It didn't produce any noticeable side effects and it worked fine. I'm no expert, but I think the worst case scenario is that the antibiotic loses its efficacy so you're effectively putting regular BP on your face.
liveyourlife 0 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Duac makes your skin red for awhile before it starts to cool down and start to work. How long have you been using it? Have you been using a Duac that wasn't expired before the sample?
