Edit: I should clarify that I am only looking things you can add to a diet, not take away.

Grass fed beef helped me. Don't get me wrong I still get cramps and they are pretty unpleasant. But during a period of time I had cut out all meat and was trying to be 100% raw vegan I had cramps that were terrifying...I would literally be puking and screaming from the pain. I even passed out it was so bad a few times.

Now I eat my red meat and they are just normal bad *which still sucks, it's hard being a girl*

I'm not sure the connection but something about the complete protein and iron seems to help the process along, for me.

At the same time, plenty of women on my raw vegan forum claim their cramps completely went away on that diet. That was actually one of the reasons I was attempting the diet in the first place. So I don't really understand it.

Yeah, eating right and sleeping right and managing stress. Foods high in phytoestrogens like flax might help or might make it worse.
